Anyone who would hear that voice would cringe compared to this much more refined voice and yet the delivery of Frank Oz was so magical, so profound but the delivery here feels so bland, so egotistical and lacks any substance. This whole ritual perfectly encompasses everything wrong with the show, it’s cringe, lacks originality, doesn’t offer anything deep or thought provoking and contradicts the classic star wars trope of Good vs Evil. Why are modern writers so addicted to the idea of moral grey?? Are they trying to normalize evil by claiming it doesn’t exist?

Instead, they try to copy and paste literally every foreign stereotypical Strope, and of course, fail at it all at the same time. If you wanna know what the arm gestures that they’re doing originate from, it’s not something that’s made up in their heads, because it derived from a part of Buddhism involved a form of meditation. The practice is only used now for celebrational show that is related to Indonesian and Thai culture . It’s also used in Laos for celebrational dance within their own traditions. Another great novel I have personally read is Star Wars Red Harvest. A story set in the time of the old republic, on a sith planet with zombies created by mad science and sith alchemy. This story is Star Wars legends.

In the RotS novel Anakin didn't care about the rank of Master. The only reason he wanted it was because only Masters could enter the Jedi Archives, and he wanted to get into the Archives to look up ways to save Padme. The movie didn't do him any favors by leaving that part out.

In Shatterpoint(which should hopefully still be canon) Mace Windu goes to Haruun Kal and runs into this tribal chief that literally taps into the dark side and draws power from the actual jungle they are in. He only went there because he was told his student fell to the Dark side and was there. There are definitely plenty of non-Jedi force users that are left alone unless they do something bad.
