Being stabbed by a knife has proven to be more lethal than a lightsaber in Disney Star Wars. Wild times.
@StarPlatinum30005 ай бұрын
It makes sense. A lightsaber goes through a wound and burns it, cauterizing it from the inside. But a throwing knife can be thrown with complete precision at the heart of a Jedi Master, instantly killing them because nothing cauterized the wound. In fact, Qui-Gon dying upon being stabbed through the gut only happened because he was a chump that didn’t think about getting his wound cauterized. /s
@jayb_1505 ай бұрын
@@StarPlatinum3000obvious satire, but the lightsaber would not only cauterize the wound but also liquify and boil any internal organs remotely near the stab… so realistically no way of surviving a lightsaber stab in the direct midsection of the torso

The Vespa chase scene isn't even the worst chase scene in Star Wars. The scene from the Obi-Wan Kenobi series was much worse. Trained bounty hunters running into clearly visible obstacles and comically let her escape through narrow paths that they could easily fit through until Leia runs right up to her pursuers and they capture her anyway. This is also the same series where Obi-Wan smuggles that same child out of a top secret Imperial Prison using the old child in a trenchcoat technique.
@Bancheis5 ай бұрын
Right. I was thinking the same thing. A toddler wobbling around somehow outruns trained bounty hunters, and we are supposed to just believe that is possible. I saw someone made a video of that and overlaid the Rugrats theme song, and I was like yep, that pretty much nails it. Look... I expect to have to have some suspension of disbelief in the show about laser swords and emotional magic in space... but there are limits to how far that suspension can stretch before it simply just breaks.

Honestly pissed me off when Charlie asked if it could be worse than TBOBF, when we have Kenobi. That alongside The Acolyte are by far the worst Star Wars shows of all time. There is nothing redeemable about either of them.
@SunheadDarkspear5 ай бұрын
Yeah... the only fully good one so far is Andor. Kenobi almost stopped me watching any of them it was just that bad. The Mandalorian makes the cultist Mando's out to be dumb redneck zealots and they are supposed to be the good guys. TBOBF is maybe one of the biggest wastes of talent I have ever seen. Ashoka simply assumes you know the characters and makes little sense while making the New Republic out to be corrupt selfish idiots. One of the marks of good writing is that you understand the bad guys motivation and reasons, but, in so much of this the bad guy is just another totalitarian psychopath with delusions of grandeur. Acolyte certainly has issues, but picking on the burning stone fort or fire in a vacuum is kind of missing the point in a canonical universe where lasers go pew in space and you can hear TIE engines there. I have no problem with portraying the Jedi as child stealing zealots, because if you are in a spiritual force user faith, then that is what they look like. Mostly it just feels like YA entertainment that does not stand up well to thinking about it. They still have time to screw it up properly, but it is by far not the worst Disney Star Wars.

It boggles my mind how Disney is working with a franchise that holds INFINITE potential, and they cannot for the life of them create a product that is beyond a 6/10. There are obviously exceptions, like the animated shows and Andor. But they have pumped out more Star Wars in 12 years than George did in 30, and yet the bad manages to vastly outweigh the good. That is fucking crazy.

Andor was garbage with no stakes trying to rewrite the Rebellion. There was no reason for that show, the guy was dead by the end of his first appearance. We know he lives to Rogue One. What makes the Jedi Master dying to a kitchen knife hurt even more, is that in recent memory, there have been 4 times on screen where someone has gotten stabbed in the abdomen/chest area with a lightsaber and has been perfectly fine afterwards.
@Bustermachine5 ай бұрын
People have survived being run through by swords while others have died to shrapnel smaller than a nail nicking an artery or internal organ. Biological organisms are big blobs of self repairing goo with a billion little weak points strewn out through body in the form of tiny hoses. So no, I'm not particularly bothered by that. Nor do light sabers actually act like a plasma/laser sword. The amount of heat they demonstrably transfer to something like a metal droid would cause the user and their surrounding to light on fire. It is, and always has been, a magic sword that does what is needed according to the plot.

Nah, its just super overused.
@giantWario5 ай бұрын
Anakin had already killed children in Episode 2. Or are we just not counting the sand people? Anakin fall to the dark side was all about love. The first time he massacred people was out of revenge for the mother he loved and the second time it was out of despair to protect Padme who he loved. He thought only Palpatine could save Padme and at this point, he had already betrayed the Jedis anyway when attacked Windu. As far as Anakin was concerned, he had already completely switched sides, the Jedis would never forgive him for what he did. So I really don't think Anakin starting to kill young Jedi was such a stretch because he really had no other choice from his perspective if he wanted to save Padme and we had seen in Episode 2 that he wasn't above killing kids for love.

In this context, the fact that other bakers used yeast in a similar recipe 45+ years ago is not really relevant to the question of why the perfectly good baking soda was left in the cupboard. Light sabers channel force.. If you channel crappily, the sword won't do THAT much damage.. We've seen weird light saber shit for eons. Daggers are daggers, if they hit you in the heart there's no magical force-channeling explanations that can explain how anyone would survive that. Also, people get their spines messed up all the time and don't die. People very rarely survive a metal dagger in the heart.. Spinal damage = paralysis/death/whatnot Dagger in the heart = Death every time.

Somehow Kathleen Kennedy and the other heads of Star Wars are going to find a way to blame the criticism of this show and it's horrible writing and characters on sexist, racist, homophobic men who "dominate" the fan base rather than take accountability for their crappy, rushed, garbage work they keep pushing out
@RoamingIRaccoon5 ай бұрын
for sure, they've been doing that since TLJ. If you dont like the movies you hate women. Its disney's overall strategy especially with the soulless cash ins that are their live action remakes. Any criticism is dismissed as one of the isms even if they are just pointing out legitimate faults.

Kathleen Kennedy and the other heads of Star Wars are the only reason Star Wars is still pumping content?! wtf you talking about! If you don’t like the show then it not meant for you. Personally I enjoy the show. Wait till it end then judge it!
@andrewheaney48745 ай бұрын
I personally think this is more of a “both sides” issue. For one, while the higher ups (including Kennedy) do exaggerate the amount of right-wing dipshits who flip their shit over the fact that there’s more women and minorities in Star Wars now… but there are a lot of them. Not enough to sway the fan base, but enough that they are a bit of a problem. A small amount of criticism I’ve seen of this show is nothing more than “hur durr there’s no white men in this show and this show sucks cause of that.” Also, a lot of them have been harassing the actors and directors, including but not limited to Kelly Marie Tran, Moses Ingram, Rian Johnson, the writers of Solo, Daisy Ridley, and even John Boyega. More than a few of them sent death threats and in some cases racial slurs, because they don’t like the movie? (Disclaimer: If you sent death threats to anyone because of Star Wars, you don’t deserve to enjoy it. Just want to say that.) That isn’t to say that the show is free from criticism (spoilers, THE SHOW STILL SUCKS) and that DEFINITELY isn’t to say that the right-wing assholes who harass/threaten cast and crew members are anything other than a vocal minority… because that’s all they are. A vocal minority, and Kennedy grouping all Star Wars fans together is so disingenuous and false that it does bother me.
@yeeeitsdustin5 ай бұрын
@P.G13 nope. Lucasfilm would still be releasing shows and movies like they were with clone wars. That's a fact that can't be argued. Also your point is completely missing what I'm saying. What I saying is that there is no reason for the people in charge of an entire franchise to take a very loud minority, generalize, and stereotype an entire community and say they're homophobic, or sexist, or racist just because that community criticizes their content. That's what they've done and there's no reason for it
