The Acropolis of Athens, a tour back in time

For thousands of years Acropolis of Athens is still standing and every year welcoming people from around the world to admire the miraculous architecture of the ancient Greeks. In this video we just have a short stroll starting from Herodion theatre, climbing up thru the Propylaea of the Athenian Acropolis, reaching the temple of Parthenon and last walking in front of the Caryatids of the Erechtheion temple.
The Acropolis of Athens is the most striking and complete ancient Greek monumental complex still existing in our times. It is situated on a hill of average height (156m) that rises in the basin of Athens. Its overall dimensions are approximately 170 by 350m. The hill is rocky and steep on all sides except for the western side, and has an extensive, nearly flat top. Strong fortification walls have surrounded the summit of the Acropolis for more than 3,300 years.
The Acropolis in Athens is a UNESCO World Heritage site because it is an important symbol of the development of ancient Greek civilization. The design of its structures has influenced architecture and art around the world.
