It does look good, and the detective work is pretty good. I personally enjoy the show quite a bit, I just think the more average fan would have a harder time taking a liking to it compared to the original. Just my opinion.

I remember watching this incarnation of Batman back when I was a wee lad, but I don't remember much about the stories. I remember images mostly, the style of animation, and the way Batman, Robin, Batgirl, and the villains looked. I would love to check out some episodes just to jog my memory some more. Thanks for posting!

...my pleasure, and thank you for watching! Yeah, they are fun lighthearted episodes with more straightforwardness than the Adam West show(which I still love). Very much what the comics where at that point before Denny O'Neil and Neal Adams retooled Batman.

Even though my home life was a little chaotic at the time (1968), I did manage to watch a few of the episodes. I really appreciate your diligent research on the adaptation from the comic books to the TV episodes of The Adventures of Batman (1968) Saturday morning cartoon.

Yep. So great! I just wish they would have had some extra features like interviews with fans and/creators(maybe Mike Ploog).

I don't know who, or where the idea of Larry Storch voicing "The Joker" came from, but that was Ted Knight's voice, NOT Storch's! Ted Knight also returned to voice both Joker and Penguin for CBS's "THE NEW SCOOBY-DO MOVIES" in Fall 1972 with Olan Soule' and Casey Kasem returning to voice Batman and Robin, five years after "THE BATMAN-SUPERMAN HOUR" left the CBS airwaves in 1969, as guest stars. Larry Storch's voice was a bit more lighter vocally, and different than Ted Knight's familiar voice, and it is insane to ever confuse the two! Storch officially began his voice career at Filmation when they produced "SABRINA AND THE GROOVY GOOLIES" for CBS Saturday Mornings in Fall 1970-the very same time that Ted Knight landed the "Ted Baxter" role on CBS's "THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW" (1970-1977). Keith Sutherland, the son of Filmation's noted director, and co-founder, Hal Sutherland, also confirms the truth about Ted Knight's voiceover as "The Joker" in their 1968 version (Lennie Weinrib later voiced "The Joker" in Filmation's "THE NEW ADVENTURES OF BATMAN" in 1977), as Larry Storch later went on voice other Filmation characters (like Marlon, The Myna Bird) on ABC's "THE BRADY KIDS" in 1972.

Also, Allen Ducony was the executive producer of all the NPP-TV/Filmation Associates cartoon series for The CBS Television Network between 1966 and 1968, based on The DC characters. NPP-National Periodical Publications TV (before being rebranded as DC Comics in 1977) was initially supposed to do an animated series based on "METAMORPHO, THE ELEMENT MAN" that artist Ramona Fradon created, but when word came out over ABC-TV canceling their "BATMAN" TV series in March 1968, Filmation Associates, NPP-TV, and Allen Ducovny's Ducovny Productions wasted no time in securing the rights to make Batman's very first cartoon series -and, on September 14, 1968, CBS's "THE BATMAN-SUPERMAN HOUR" made its official debut, with Ted Knight voicing as series narrator and character voices for all of Batman's arch-villains (including "The Joker"), and was also the voice of "Commissioner Gordon", and "Alfred, The Butler". Knight and Jane Webb, along with former "THE MILLIONAIRE" star, Marvin Miller (who also voiced "Aquaman" in 1967), all voiced the characters in "FANTASTIC VOYAGE", which was the second of three Filmation-produced series for ABC and 20th Century Fox Television, which debuted the same day that "THE BATMAN-SUPERMAN HOUR" also debuted!

When Filmation Associates and CBS returned to do a second Batman cartoon series called "THE NEW ADVENTURES OF BATMAN" in early 1977, the timing was accurate, especially with rival network NBC, who secured the rights from Hanna-Barbera Productions to rerun "SPACE GHOST/FRANKENSTEIN JR" -a heavily edited version of the original CBS cartoons from 1966, which back then, gathered impressive ratings, especially for NBC's lackluster Saturday Morning lineup in the 1976-77 TV season-while reruns-half-hour edited reruns of ABC's "SUPER FRIENDS" from 1973 was still being aired on ABC (before the debut of "THE ALL-NEW SUPERFRIENDS HOUR" in September 1977-the show's official second season) and showing impressive ratings, prompted CBS to bring back Batman a decade after their previous 1968 series-which, like "SPACE GHOST", were targets of angry parents in 1968 who complained over the superhero violence in Saturday Morning cartoons-so Lou Scheimer & Norm Prescott, with a very heavy educational slate (which also worked for "FAT ALBERT") to make their animated entertainment both family-friendly, educational, and non-violent, took "SUPER FRIENDS" main lead, and got original Batman actors Adam West and Burt Ward to reprise their 1966-1968 roles as the voices of their masked counter parts, and also including "Bat-Mite" (voiced by Lou Scheimer himself, who later went on to voice "Orko" for Filmation's "HE-MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE" in 1983), and the 13 episode run cartoon series maintained a good TV run-later in Fall 1977 as "THE BATMAN-TARZAN ADVENTURE HOUR" on CBS, until being sold to NBC in 1980 as "BATMAN AND THE SUPER 7", which was rerun until 1981. Filmation's second version of Batman was supposed to be like the live-action ABC series with the campiness, but ultimately, it failed to be a successor to Filmation's original 1968 series, which still remains the best version, especially since the first series stayed true to The Silver Age comic books at the time, and neither Scheimer and Prescott wanted any more negatives like the ones from complaining parents in 1968!

In the intro of the New Adventures of Batman a purple/pinkish Riddler appears, but he never actually appeared in the episodes. This was because Hanna Barbera had the rights to the character for The Superfriends, as I understand.
