Jesse's a bit awkward but he seems like a really cool guy. I think he did a good job playing a modern take on Lex's son. It's easier for people nowadays to see the villain as a young, tech-savvy and hip CEO, and he played it pretty damn well.

If he was playing an original character, I wouldn't have cared at all; but a Luthor he does not make. His performance wasn't in any way poor, just the writers/director's take on Lex didn't match with the fundamentals of that particular character. I really liked the version of Batman that they set out to make in this movie, but much unlike the character he's meant to bring to the screen, Snyder created a Batman that does something near any other version of the character should not and can't; he kills.
