Haha yeah, I'm back again after watching Wes Barker analyse Jesse's trick. It's funny how she edited this piece and totally gave away how Jesse did it in the post trick camera shot. I don't know, pretty much everything is staged these days. Jesse's shtick is being awkward and kind of rude and maybe hers is too so it was just two similar schticks colliding. Who knows
@Buttcakes153 жыл бұрын
That’s an interesting conspiracy theory and now I’m thinking it might be staged It’s actually edited like it’s staged so that might be something
@BrandonHeat2433 жыл бұрын
I do not for a second think it was staged on the part of Eisenberg in the sense it was scripted. There's no real benefit to make himself look like a jerk. On the part of the girl though, she was definitely putting on an act. If you look up other interviews with her around that era her shtick was asking awkward/dumb questions during interviews. However I think he may have legit hurt her feelings. Normally in the interviews she'd do she'd annoy the celebs and they'd just kind of politely roll with it. But Eisenberg pushed back in a way other celebs didn't. I don't think he was trying to be mean, I think he was trying to match her energy because he thought it was banter. Only she could dish it out but not take it so when did that it offended her. That's my take anyway.

i think it really set him off when she called morgan freeman by his last name you see how he brought that up again and the air after that was off because the interviewer really did felt the sting from jesse. i think this is bad because jesse could’ve let her redeem herself (but he didn’t by bringing up the morgan freeman thing the second time “don’t talk about him like that again” ) so she just mirrored him, notice how she said “so we could wrap this up” and jesse was shocked and after that it’s just counter attack from both of them.

She thought he had to be nice to her and go along with her stupidity because she’s pretty. He didn’t so she got butthurt vain people do that. It’s so obvious. What did she think he was going to fall at her feet 👎 nope , another theory the calling Morgan freeman is an old surname for freedman who are slave descendants just calling him “FREE MAN “isn’t very cordial either that’s probable what set him off. He mentioned it a couple times made jokes about her knowing him trying to let her know it’s weird because it is she doesn’t know him. She was not promoting the movie properly that’s it. He got annoyed by her. She felt berated. They just didn’t get along well, two very different personalities.

@Vivi-xk4ti3 жыл бұрын
I don’t think he knew how he was being perceived. Unless I was good friends with someone I wouldn’t expect to have that kind of insulting back and forth with a stranger. There’s a ton of ways humans subtly communicate through body language, facial expressions and tone of voice we subconsciously pick up on. He clearly didn’t pick up on the fact she started to feel demeaned and because he speaks in a very fast kind of expressionless way among other things, she didn’t pick up on the fact he was joking/being playful/ flirting however you wanna view it. Ultimately he very clearly lacks social skills although he obviously can’t help it. It’s fine if you disagree but that’s my 2 cents
@kevinconnor60353 жыл бұрын
I don't think so. Here's the deal with these interviews: Jesse Eisenberg sits in that chair for like ten hours. No-name after no-name sits across from him for 20 minutes at a time asking him the same questions over and over. He does it, like every other actor does, because doing press for movies is part of their jobs. But he's there to promote the movie. He doesn't want to tack 20 minutes on to a very long day for this self-promoting lightweight. This woman is totally unprofessional. She doesn't seem to have any idea what she's doing, and thinks that by trying to be cute and flirty, she is doing her job. "Morgy"?! Card tricks?! Come on. She's using the time to put the spotlight on herself, rather than the movie. A good interviewer always focuses on the interview subject, not themselves. It seems pretty apparent that this woman got her job because of her looks, and thinks they excuse her from developing any real skill at her job. I'd be annoyed too if I had to endure that. She's awful.

Exactly. Interview starts off, she calls Morgan Freeman "Freeman", he playfully makes fun of that fact (because it's an odd thing to do), she does thumb trick, he obliges, she shows writing all over her hand so he asks what that was about and makes a couple more jokes, cards come out, he asks about carrot top (because she brought props), she called carrot top horrible and assumed he was insulting her, she says the crying thing, he tries to joke out of it, then she says she wants to get it over with, he then rightfully lets her know that he is taking time out of his schedule not vice versa, from this point she acts annoying the whole time during the trick, he finishes, she asks for him to say her name, he played along and said one snarky comment at the end. It was all in jest and he had a smile on the whole time. I also think she playfully called him a jerk, but if she was serious then she misread his intentions.

The name part was actually from the beginning of the interview which was cut and pasted to the end, so from there is where all the snarkiness started. She just asked him to say her name like she does with all celebrities, cause that's the name of the series, and he was the one to be like, "Oh, I actually wouldn't want to find you...". From there is where all of the teasings began. And I really think it was just all out of flirtation, nothing serious, neither of them took any real offence. Why are people so blind to that? @@mobbarley3599 You'd have to be on a film promotion to know who's there and it's all studio handlers, along with the actor's personal assistants. They either go from room to room in a hotel and do the interviews OR they have it set up so the person interviewing the actor comes into the room and is given an allotted time to ask their questions about the movie. I was at one once and it was kinda cool to see, but insane how chaotic and organized it was.

I genuinely feel bad for his thumb. Imagine his thumb was a person, then people will agree that the interviewer was being rude. You can't just insult someone's thumb like that. What did the thumb do to you? #thumblivesmatter
@sammikluber67549 жыл бұрын
I don't think he was intentionally being rude to the interviewer. Keep in mind that the carrot top joke was supposed to go in another direction. The interviewer believed that he was a terrible comedian, where as Jesse was referencing his habit of bringing props to his shows (like how she brought the questions instead of memorising them). Jesse's anxiety and intelligence can often cause him to make references that might confuse or offend others when he actually has no intentions of offending people in the first place. I noticed the part when he said "I'd rather be alone" the interviewer was offended. I think he was trying to be playful and funny in a sarcastic way, and she just didn't take the hint. It was also probably his attempt at lightening up the already awkward interview. Overall, the interviewer was a bit sensitive when she didn't understand his sarcasm and references, and Jesse could have toned down his snarky responses.

If you watch any other video other than this, you'll notice that this is how he speaks and acts, he has talked before about his anxiety and ocd, so his behavious is nothing new and ALSO nothing bad. She is interviewing him, therefore she's on HIS time, she was being disrespectful and literally told him "do the trick so we can wrap this up". Calling on her bullshit is not misogynistic.

She tells him he has fat thumbs. Then, she tries to hurry him up as if he is the one wasting *her* time, as if she has tons of other people waiting to interview her afterward... If this wasn't a some sort of sketch where they were both trying to be playful, she's just an awful interviewer, she's unprofessional, and she definitely isn't quick/intelligent enough to be trying to pull off whatever she tried to here. I could do a better job- easily.
