yea, this is a great example of 90s alternaculture; could never exist today. A lot of stars had to align but i think a big factor during this time was that most of what we saw was made from recently graduated college kids who were just given a camera, or a music studio or whatever. A high level of "quirk" resulted, an almost freewheeling nature to most of what came out during this time. Corporate committees rule the day now and even when they try, the "quirk" seems manufactured , like they are intentionally paying homage to this era.
@mattlawson7146 жыл бұрын
Epic response. There was clearly a higher level of creativity back in those days. Glad I got to grow up with this. The metal plate, the tattoo, Artie... that kind of humor first showed up on 90's Nick. You could also find it in "adult" programming like Adult Swim Spaceghost. In some strange way, kinda reminds me of Tim and Eric.

I remember when I was 5 and I watched this on Nickelodeon, it was the only show I watched that wasn't animated or a game show besides All That until Keenan and Kel premiered

I need test subjects for my time machine project. I am headed to the 90s first; you can get in on the ground floor as long as you promise not to tell too many people.

I, we, couldn't get a better time to be growing up. Things are different, not even recognizable, nor how we thought they'd be. Enjoy your memories u.

Everyone's chiming in about turning 30 and I'm in the same boat. Something about hitting 30 and seeing how much life has changed and will continue to change freaks me out. People say that you should live in the present, because the past is the past and the future's the future, but it's hard to not feel anxious of what's to come. Even without the pandemic or political issues, I'd still feel nervous about getting older. It's a reminder of everything that I haven't been able to accomplish and how I'm slowly growing apart from the idea that I was once part of a generation where anything and everything was possible. Getting older, you slowly realize that's not true at all, and you're left wondering if this feeling will continue on for as long as you're alive. I remember watching this show back in the 90s, but I was too little to really appreciate it. Over the years I've grown to appreciate the intro's music, and I guess it just leaves me feeling nostalgic.
