Evening sir. You were bang on about day 1 and 2. Too much forestry. I must have missed your day 2 camping spots. I ended up pulling an 18 miler. I was goosed I won't lie. Day 3 was definitely worth it though. Pretty much pure white until heading up the glen to Morvich. Big shout to Cannich Campsite. Safe trails mate. 👍

Just done this and started from Dog Falls car park. A wonderful wild camp spot I can recommend is on a little beach on the loch Beinn a Mheadhoin, just to the east of the River Affric car park. Idyllic, and has some shelter from wind. You'll spot it from the path, and take a little track down. Ps. Got a taxi from Drumnadrochit, was £44.

Watched this last night and this trail looks unbelievable. Right up my street. I’ve definitely got this route on my to do list. @@BoredManOutdoors Me too. This year it’s the West Highland Way starting on the 9/4/22. I know I’m bound to get some rocky weather over my 7 days but I pray for it to be nice over the Rannock Moor section and Bridge of Orchy in particular. In your video of the Affric Kintail Way the forestry scenes remind me so much of the Loch Ness 360 last year. That too goes through Drumnadrochit so it was nice to see it once again. Those mountains and open glens though on day 3 and 4 really are something else and what I also like is that it’s not too long that you’re out there. Such vast landscapes can be very overwhelming for long periods and this trail looks very appealing for people who are just perhaps starting out with open landscape hiking. It’s definitely the kind of terrain I thrive in. As much as the Peak District is stunning, the Scottish Highlands is where I feel totally free. I aim to do a Scottish trail every year where possible. Once again, Thankyou 🙂

Hello again, just watching this a second time as doing this trail in the next few weeks. Any tips on wild camping spots, particularly the first few days would be greatly appreciated if you can remember. You said there wasn't really any between Drum and Cannich? Then you mentioned a good spot past Cannich. Any pitch stop ideas welcome :)
@BoredManOutdoors
@BoredManOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Hi there... I hope the weather is kind to you. Obviously there is Cannich camp site or wild camping almost across the road if you don't want to pay. If you're not planning on going as far as Cannich on day one, there is a short road section before crossing the road on to the new-ish route along forestry track - there will probably be options along there and within the woodlands. After Cannich, not a great deal however, there are a couple of spots in woodland before Dog Falls.. More opportunity if you're on your own, if with others, ( more tents) a little more challenging.. hope that helps.. Good luck Rebecca - Jim 😎

I agree, lovely cycling country as well. Id really like to explore the area more and with my bike. The original plan was on my own. Drop the car, cycle to Drum, stash the bike then walk back.. decided on the bus in the end as I'm only just getting my bike legs back. 🚴😎

@@YeahStevie I'm the same. If you're driving to Morvich, there is off-road parking just behind the cemetery. A short walk back across the 'bridge' towards Kintail crafts.
