Finally, my favourite crocodilian! Thank you so much for 1000 subs, I’ll be doing a sorta Q&A special video so any questions are appreciated. Huge thanks to Polish Wolfwalker as always!

I love it when George coats himself in oil then galavants around his room while babbling dinosaur facts!

You deserve more subs. I love it when someone is passionate about a specific group of animals (for me it's Tyrannosaurs and Ceratopsids).

Epic video! Really awesome species, it’s cool that the west African slender snouted species has nob like horns above it’s ears and a unique slender snout with quite sizable awesome teeth. Also wonder if there could be giant central African slender snouted crocs in the Congo and Cameroon possible 5m. Also it’s cool that it’s closest relatives are the dwarf crocs osteolaemus, which is compromised of three known distinct species. There even a documentary about the Congo dwarf croc from living zoology and has very vibrant bright yellow Carmel colored cranium, and in some localities the whole body similar to paleosuchus species without the upturned snout as in the west and African dwarf crocs, and differences in the dentition. Also there are cool degree of distinct color markings of the west African slender snouted crocs with black stripes and banding, and golden colors on the Central African slender snouted crocs. Also could be other unknown croc species in the Congo and Cameroon.

Your comments are always so insightful and I really appreciate your anecdotes and such. Do you have the name of the documentary? I think there’s definitely room for more diversity, much like with that of the African Dwarf Crocodile.

@@GeorgeTheDinoGuy Thank you, and yes indeed it’s called “Mysterious Crocodile of the Congo - documentary film about new species of reptile and bushmeat” on KZbin. Also very true. Who knows what other cryptid croc species or whole new ones are out there, would be cool if a species euthecodon was chilling somewhere in the Congo. I have heard of one report of some sort of large broad snouted crocodile from the Congo, , it’s location is from the lower Congo region it’s mentioned in a book called “contributions to the herpetology of Belgian Congo based on the collection of the American museum Congo expedition, 1909 - 1915” the report of this unknown species of broad snouted crocodile is mentioned at the bottom of page 431. Also notes the natives say it’s behavior is comparable to that of the slender snouted Crocodiles in the region.

I've heard there is some optimism about recovering a stable gharial population in India and Pakistan. I hope there is a chance of success with these Crocs too.

Yes there's a few confirmed sightings now and I'm sure some organisations will pop up soon. There are some limitations to breeding programmes for gharials, and this may also be the case with African Slender Snouted Crocs (though this is unlikely).
