The destruction of all these homes is just heart breaking. I pray that no lives were lost. I love how your family has come together for support and clean up. This is so emotional to watch and view in disbelief on how devastating the loss was. My prayers to your family. Thank you for the update.

We visited Sarasota and Pinecraft - Detwilers, Yoders, Der Dutchman. etc. in March 2024 because of your channel. We are so sorry for your losses, and you are in our prayers. Your attitude, hard work, and trust in God's sovereign rule over all things is a blessing. Keep up the good work !!

Continuing to pray for all affected by the flooding. You're right Lynette, our Heavenly Father is good ALL of the time. He will and does see us through everything. Blessings and prayers...

Lynette, when you go through horrible things like loosing everything in a hurricane, flood, etc., it takes awhile to get back to normalcy. It is hard to get your feet back under yourself. I am sorry that your parents have had to go through it. I can see that Harper struggles when she goes over to your parents. She remembers the fun times she had there and now things are in disarray. She is too young to understand. Bless her heart. Prayers are being said for all those affected by Hurricane Debbie. Hang in there!

So glad you're not 'blaming' God, but giving Him the glory. He said it "rains on the just and the unjust." So even bad things happen to good people. I'm praying this will all soon be a distant memory.

Watching these last two videos have brought back SO many memories of us losing our place on Sanibel Island. No one can prepare you for what it is like to see all the damage. We were very fortunate that we had a home back in Southern Illinois. You can see the pictures, but until you actually walk in and see it,there are no words. The smell, silt and sand was horrible!!! It will be 2yrs in September and now we're are just getting to finish it and hopefully be done by end of year. My heart ached for all of you!! So thankful your parents have a place and a sweet daughter to help them. Sending you all love ,hugs and prayers!! God will see you through all this!!😊

Dear Mrs.Yoder! Many uplifting prayers and thoughts from Austria to Florida! All will be well again. Your mother looks simply wonderful in her cape-dresses despite the adverse circumstances. If these very elegant dresses could be bought worldwide, I am sure, the Mennonite Church would become very rich.

Hi Lynette: it’s just so heartbreaking. All of it. I had 6 inches of water in my basement in May. The power was out so no sump pump and 4 inches of rain in less than half an hour. There’s no comparison to your disaster other than the overwhelming feeling of helplessness. I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing or even where to begin. It took a couple of days for the water to recede and then I just started making a huge pile of ruined possessions. It took 3 weeks to get the basement back to normal. Now, anything on the floor is in plastic totes. Lesson learned!

Our lives are so fragile and fleeting but in God's hands. It is amazing how quickly this storm came in and did so much destruction. The weather across the U.S. has been really wild and unpredictable. I'm just so glad your parents have a nice place to stay for now until all this gets sorted out and they can finally move on. You and your family are so dedicated in helping when help is needed. That is precisely what families should do, come together during hard times.... but celebrate the good times as well.

Continued prayers. We drive around and it's almost like nature is reclaiming everything. It's surreal. And yet, for as long as I remember, there has always been storms and cleanup. When Donna hit in 1960, the water was coming in through our walls. And we had nowhere to go. But we just keep on plugging along. After all, it's home. Again, many prayers.

Two years ago, because of how much debris was left clogging our drainage systems following Hurricane Laura, our neighborhood flooded following a freak storm. I’ve never experienced anything like it. We lost everything! Our streets were lined with mountains of furniture, Sheetrock, doors etc. So I know first hand what you’re going through. The difference is we had no flood insurance! I cannot tell you how devastating this was. Thankfully our church friends helped us clean up and get through it. Believe it or not you will get through it and looking back you’ll find blessings. You are in our prayers! Hang in there!
