The stars have aligned for The Agonist. Vicky was the absolute best thing to ever happen to this band in my opinion. The guys have all stepped up their game which was already freaking great and Vicky has delivered vocally like never before. She is phenomenal, the album is phenomenal!!!!!

Agree. The old style wasn’t bad. I do prefer the new style. Usually prefer it the heavier side. This is so beautifully done though. Nice riffs with well produced vocals. Some might say they got lucky lol. A perfect fit for them.
@bumblefoot54 жыл бұрын
Buddy they sound terrible compared to Alissa. I stopped listening to the agonist. Does not even sound anything like the first 3 albums. If your going to kick your main star out the band and make completely different music you rename the band/start a new one. These guys are clowns. If Alissa had did arch enemy and the agonist every metal head in the world would be watching the agonist. As it stands since Alissa left their a no name band. You could ask 100 metal heads on the street who the agonist is and if anyone knows them its from Alissa albums. The agonist is like a lesson in how to sabotage your self. The band believe they have more talent than they do. They sound like any other metal band out there. Got 5 of them sounding like this at my local club.
@NoName-rj4go Жыл бұрын

Lyrics: I've had all I can take To hate for hate's sake Tearing down what you cannot create The time has come to be put to sleep A gift of silence for a herd of sheep Nature is red in tooth and claw Did they tell you you must be The first without a flaw? Nature is red in tooth and in claw Let it rain, rain all over me Till the water will no longer bleed Oh, let it rain so you will see What it's like, what it's like to be free I stand before dangerous territory Staring the enemy right in the eye If only I could cross the line Seize control, don't let the currents divide The pattern is equal For those who play the game The pattern is flawless Don't you dare deny the blame Let it rain, rain all over me Till the water will no longer bleed Oh, let it rain so you will see What it's like, what it's like to be free Let it rain, pour it all over me I will shed my scales into the sea Let it rain, pour it all over me I will sit there and let you repeat Till your words will no longer bleed Let it rain, rain all over me Till the water will no longer bleed Oh, let it rain so you will see What it's like, what it's like to be free

Killer video for a killer track on a killer album! Looking back on the almost 20 albums I've picked up this year so far, this is hands-down my favorite. I really liked "Five", but "Orphans" surpasses it in every conceivable way. The music is amazing, the songwriting is fresh and interesting, and Vicky's vocals are the best they've ever been. I hope someone at Napalm Records is reading these comments, and passing them along to the band, because y'all need to know just how much The Agonist is killing it. Hope I get to see them again live soon. And I hope for a video for "Blood as my Guide", which is my favorite track on the new album.

So summary...stop me if I misspeak.... - Band puts out a possible career-defining album. - Singer hits vocal growls lower than this band has ever even tried to do before. - Each member tears up every track on the album. - Singer going for laundry detergent endorsement by playing in dirt, being bruised & battered by random hands, and a blood shower in all three videos from said album. Did I miss anything?! THIS is why Orphans is in my top three albums of 2019, and climbing!
@isselasantina37734 жыл бұрын
I also noticed this trend from the _Five_ era that they had videos bending the four elements, to wit: "The Moment" (water) "The Hunt" (wind) "In Vertigo" (earth) "Burn It All Down" (fire) and now that they're capping it off with blood...

@@Rickswars Calling me a poser just shows you how stupid you are. You should know dang well that Vicky improved on both her clean AND screams compared to The Five. It's a proven fact. There's a clear difference in improvement. You are probably an Alissa fanboy that is just refusing to believe that The Agonist is in a right state of mind with Alissa out of the picture. The band's more happier then ever with Vicky as a front line. You just love to add negative connotations to someone loving how Vicky is getting better vocally. Feels like they've finally gotten back to where they were before Alyssa's departure. Finally something I can listen to that doesn't sound like they lost their talent along with the previous vocalist. Finally something on par with Panophobia, which is still one of my favorite songs. I really hope they continue to improve. I think they have the talent to be one of the best metal bands in the world, they just need to stay away from single note songs and keep the arrangements interesting. I wasn't fond of the previous two albums, but this one's a vast improvement. The Agonist sounds like The Agonist again, and that makes me happy.

I dunno man, I think this is pretty awesome. I don't understand the hidden messages, but I've liked Vicky ever since I first heard her. This is a woman with a passion and that stuff is dangerous as most ppl know. What I can say about Arch Enemy as they are still being mentioned even after 4-5 years now is that I don't like the band one bit. I just don't think they can offer me anything interesting to listen to. Didn't like them before Alissa, don't like them still. I can also say that I think Alissa is being handed a lot less than she deserves with Arch Enemy. That is my opinion and I am not throwing it onto anyone, you are welcome to disagree ofc. On the other hand, I feel like every time I've clicked a The Agonist song, I've had something interesting to listen to. Some volatile mix of emotions and that is hard to find these days. Vicky just has a way of doing things, can't quite put it into words, but if you haven't checked out her channel yet I strongly suggest you do that. There's some interesting stuff there. The Agonist have this approach and Vicky has one too and they are busting buildings and selling the rubble for garden ornaments.
