I remember reading in a guitar magazine in the 90's that Alex wanted to step away from Testament because he was sick of playing in E Minor. Never heard any of his non-Testament playing until now. This is phenomenal.
@amonra97265 жыл бұрын
finally someone woke...i mean, i love rock and metal of course, but majority of bands, even if they have tons of talent at disposal they just stay with the classic minor metal vibe. I mean, experiment!
@SpartanLaserCanon3 жыл бұрын
@@amonra9726 Yeah, like Animals as Leaders with different keys and fusiony parts. Sometimes I like traditional metal, but a lot of the time I like to listen to other stuff and more Fusiony modern stuff. This for sure is more fusiony playing and not traditional Jazz playing, but I do still like this.

Dig Skol’s chord voicing! Drummer is crazy rad! Bassist - very cool. Saw them live once. Ended with War Pigs and Skol was nearly head banging. Wife was like “Dude knows he wants to full on rock out!” Shortly after, he’s back in Testament.

Thanks guys and to all who work on that it was an amazing share it was music to my ears and food for my soul. I have been a Testament fan since I was 16 years old you do the math and only Alex has the humility to teach a Violoncellist how to head bang to Metallica. Dave is the only other guitarist with the speed but he is just not match for a teacher like Alex. I'm so proud of you. Alex you jazzy dude.

@orangeguitarmusik Inventiveness and experimentation = bad ... ? You may not agree with the interpretation but there is definitely inventiveness in what they do. Inventiveness and experimentation are at the heart of the spirit of jazz. If you cant sense humour that's your problem and not Alex's. He's clearly having fun combining his two favourite styles. And besides, his Bachelor of fine Arts in Jazz from The New School university certainly supports his claim the he is, in fact, a 'jazzer'.
