The Alien Encounters (1979)

Rare docudrama, based on the case of aircraft mechanic, and purported UFO contactee, George Van Tassel, who died the year before it was released, and his curious invention in the Mojave Desert, called the Integratron, near the Giant Rock landmark, where UFO buffs would hold conventions back in the 50s.

i discovered this movie in the oddest way. I just saw on late night cable the Charles Bronson movie 10 to Midnight, in which Bronson is a cop who tries to stop, of all people, a young man who stabs women to death while he's stark naked. i was struck by the actor playing the killer, one Eugene M. Davis, so I checked his IMDb filmography and found him listed here as a Man in Black. I used to think the first Men in Black on film were in 1980's Hangar 18, but this was a year earlier. The first Man in Black, a naked killer, an assassin in another Bronson movie -- Davis had an odd career. Anyhow, this script has a few actual good ideas kicking around in it, but it's mixed with a lot of junk, plus it needs to be rated D for Dull. ("So maybe we can live long enough to use what we learn" -- I don't know, I think a lot of us could blow all eternity never getting around to that.) But if nothing else, this may be of historic importance, the first movie portrayal of Men in Black (even though we really only see the one "Mib" in sunglasses and a mustache, who I suppose may be Davis.)

Did I miss something? Sorry, but this movie seemed to be very boring to me. A previous person posted that everybody in this movie seemed to be stoned, it’s a very bad thing to say because it can ruin your chromiums
