AB fan here. I enjoyed this discussion. It's interesting to hear the Springbok mindset about playing for a bigger cause. This is probably in contrast to the AB mindset. Most AB fans here in NZ, did not expect the ABs to get past the QF stage. We've had a terrible last few years, and the ABs left NZ for the RWC with the lowest expectations ever on a AB side for a RWC.

Actually after the performances in the Rugby Championship and Bledisloe cup series, there was confidence in the team. Crucial injuries to Retallic and Frizell were concerning and when Lomax went down and Barrett’s suspension, the build up into the tournament was disrupted.

Agree 100%. We are lucky to be in the final and we should see it that way. But we are in the finals and we find ourselves there in the best way possible. Worst way would have been if we beat eng by 30 and NZ had a tighter game against Arg. Most people would have Nz as favourites, and looking at our game, it would take a real effort to be worse than last weekend. Also I feel like there is a difference in who and what both teams are playing for. Foster is playing to win so he can sit in a press conference and tell everyone they were wrong to doubt him. Rassie and Jacques will be motivating the team to do it for the fans, the videos of kids from all races crying after the win, the unity it brings, even if temporary. I just have a feeling about this boks team in the final.

I agree - definitely have to give props to the coaching team. They really do trust the team and nomatter who gets substituted from the bench, they get the job done on the field. The coaches put in players according to what is good/beneficial for the team at that time. Really love it. The whole squad delivers when required and perform to their level best.

I agree. I just wish our entire country's happiness and unity didn't rest on players of which half of them if they weren't in the national team would be marginalised by our government and indeed even after always contributing to the country's pride told oh okay we use you but we don't actually want or need you- go "back" to Europe. Like the real institutionalised racism in SA no one ever talks about.
