10:07 yes but Tundra has that fantastic style of glove box where the door is separate from the storage area instead of all one thing the way most glove boxes are. I like this design because the weight of what is stored inside isn't resting on the door when you open it, and everything stays put and isn't jostled around by opening and closing the glove box.

It will be interesting to see what their volume will be now that they have a new design and, more importantly, more line time available. Previously Tacoma took up a lot of the capacity in Texas, but they now have other plants for Tacoma. Maybe they will actually build appreciable numbers of the mid and low level trims. Before they allocated the Tundra capacity mostly to the more profitable, higher level trims.

A couple of points. I test drove the old one in 2017 and found it inferior to the Ford I wound up leasing. What I couldn’t figure out is why the lease price was about $160 more per month than the Ford, even though the sticker prices were comparable, and Toyota is known for great resale value which should mean a higher residual. In 2020, during COVID, both Ford and Toyota were still offering the same truck, but I went with Ford again because it was better and cheaper. (Long term durability was unimportant to me on a lease.) My lease isn’t up again until 2023, and I will definitely look at the new Toyota, but aren’t they still behind Ford in offering a small electric motor incorporated into the power train? This Toyota seems to be a follower rather than a leader, leaving me to think they will still be an also-ran in the full-size pick-up wars.

My 2008 Tundra is going to hit 300,000 miles in early 2022; my father owned 5 Fords since 1983, never making it past 210,000, and that was with extensive maintenance to his transmissions and transfer cases. That’s why Toyotas have higher relative resale, but that may be less important to someone who leases.

Good job Tom. Toyota clearly wants to get in on the Ford EcoBoost customer demographic. Ford proved you can do it and it then becomes more popular than the V8. It will feel different than the old truck for sure but no denying that with a trailer behind you, the "boost" of twin turbos is unmatched. There's a reason why heavy duty trucks have all turned to turboed, diesel trucks. Gas V8 power is good but its a dog with any real weight behind you and will destroy you on poor gas mileage under load as compared to a juiced up turboed truck gas or diesel.

At low speed, it folds up to restore full ground clearance. This "active air dam" PREVENTS Tundras from having FRONT TOW HOOKS which to work properly must be attached to the frame . An off-road vehicle without tow hooks ???? You will not be pulling your buddy out of a snow bank or no one is going to be pulling you out of a mud bog . Tow Hooks are essential for every off-roader .
