They separated the battery from the charger so it doesn't get as hot so it can maintain a faster charge rate. However, if you plan to have it attached to your phone all the time, then the charging rate doesn't matter. So, the 10k option is probably the best choice for most people.

I like the idea but it is too thick. This design potentially mitigates heat concerns, since it puts the wireless charging and the battery in two completely separate compartments. Baseus just went through a recall for some of it's magsafe powerbanks because the battery could potentially get too hot.
