I'm really liking the quick release visor and larger chin vent! Hopefully this helmet fixes the other issues with the xd-4... namely the face shield which doesn't go high enough when flipped up, and the cheek pads which don't have the best attachment design. I don't know how I feel about the styling yet. The chin bar doesn't seem to stick out very far, which is another issue I had with the xd-4. For off road use in hot weather, my mouth always felt too close to the chin vent. I prefer a more "moto" style helmet rather than the more street look of the xd-5. The idea of a rotational impact system also makes me consider trying another helmet when I have to retire the xd-4. Can't wait to try one on!

Just a small bit of information for you, all of our helmets have a rotational management system, it is the round smooth shell of the helmet, which we have been doing for around 50 years. We feel it is better to deal with the rotational impact forces with the outside shell of the helmet. Thanks and Happy Riding this season.

I've put over 12k miles on my DesertX in under a year. Every mile wearing an XD-4. Great helmet, even in the +110F Texas heat. Just checked out the XD-5 at my local Ducati dealer a few days ago, will probably pick one up. Hope it's available in the Diamond White like my XD-4. 😊

While I’d love to see MIPS integrated into arai’s lineup..having loved the XD4 I can’t wait to try the 5. My 4 was just stolen and I am ready to try these out when I see them start getting stocked in my local cycle gear.
