Any ABB outing with Jack gets my vote. Thank you so much for posting. I loved his playing with Derek when Warren couldn't be there.

I saw them one day before this was recorded in VA Beach. Jack Pearson was amazing. Hearing it live was life changing and made me a Jack Pearson fan.

With ya on this. Loved Warren and Derek but seeing them with a reenergized Dicky and pairing him with Jack was just so so so so good. Felt like a revival

I am presently watching a concert by The Allman Brothers Band from Mansfield,Massechusettes in 1998,the memories come flooding back of the good times we had in those days as I'll be 71 years old this coming April,but I still feel like I'm at least 40 yrs old. Anyway,getting back to the Allman Brothers,their guitar playing was and still is absolutely brilliant and you can understand the lyrics to all of their memorable songs,I particularly liked Their Eat A Peach Album amongst heaps of their other great albums and also their country blues material that they put out in the early 2000's,so thanks Utube for putting their concerts on Utube for the listening pleasure of old and new fans.

There is nobody I had rather hear play than Dickey Betts. I will say that Jack Pearson has a large quantity of great licks, plays fine, on time, harmony and is smooth as silk, and great with playing normal and with slide. He is humble, interesting and witty, in the few interviews I have seen on here, and another fine musician for the ABB.

Amaa-zing! Love Gregg's singingg. Both drummers're awesome. Dickey sounds like Dickey. Jack Pearson is great and sounding like Lowell George- another genius !

I wrote Jack Pearson a letter a few months back. I discovered him a couple of years ago, and as a guitarist for over 15 years now, his playing was a revelation to me. I've yet to hear back, but I hope he's doing well. He's a master.

I saw every single show Allmans did at Great Woods during my summers growing up. They would come 3-4 times each summer, I found my ticket stubs from this 98 summer tour when they came to Great Woods. Such good shows and good times.

I saw the Allman Brothers Band over a dozen times between 1980 and 2000. The vast majority were at Great Woods in Mansfield, Ma. ABB came through annually every summer to Great Woods and the shows were always sold out. The tailgate parties were legendary as were their performances. I still have a few concert T shirts from those shows.

This was a PPV and I ordered of course and taped many many years ago now. I have been searching for this since youtube became a thing. Also, this was my intro to Jack. I remember when I ordered and it started my first thought was "Where the hell is warren" but after the first solo from Jack I was a fan instantly and have been since

Look on KZbin for Les Brers' concert in Philly. It's got Jaimoe, Butch, Oteil, and Marc. There's no Gregg or Dickey, but Bruce Katz stands in on a variety of keyboards, and Jack Pearson is there with Pat Bergeson on guitars. Sound and visual are professional level (although I wish Oteil's bass was just a bit more audible in the mix), and, like it was with me, the show will probably leave you with a big smile. If you didn't think that Jack Pearson could possibly get any better than in this video, you'll know otherwise when you see the Les Brers show. And I can't leave out Lamar Williams' son, Lamar Jr., handling the vocals in that setup; he's got Gregg's phrasing and vocal timbre down pat, but he's also a powerhouse vocalist in his own right. Les Brers is a well-oiled machine in the tradition of ABB. Cheers.

Is there anyway to remaster this video with the color / hue a lot more like your first remasters of this show? It's a lot darker. I still appreciate you posting it though.
@steve-boston2 жыл бұрын
Hi Baden H, thanks for watching and commenting on the video. I took a second look at it and I agree with you that it looks too dark. There are a lot of issues with the original tape and it is very hard to work with. To begin with the PPV cable feed was terrible. Lots of video noise and blown highlights. The original tape is virtually unwatchable and I was very disappointed with it at the time. For some reason they kept the stage very dark and used mainly spotlights on the band. Maybe to highlight the light show up on the screen. I will give it a second try and I should be able to improve on it. Thanks for the helpful feedback.

@Steve-Boston, Thanks for posting all that you have done; my only time I experienced Jack Pearson was a home concert that took place in Western Illinois, close to St. Louis, MO, years after all his ABB shows, so I am glad to have the ability to hear all the tracks that are being shown now. 😊
