He is right, this is THE BEST tutorial 'out there' I don't understand why this hasn't hit 1m views. It is understandable precise and best of all safe to develop. Thank you teacher Vincent, my neck thanks you 🙏🏿

I love the way you teach... breaking each part of the full movement down into wee parts so clearly. Will be trying this tomorrow. Thanks again Vincent ♥

Thank you! I was teaching back shoulder rolls and my students were like "no those are fish rolls!" And I was like um no ladies there is a difference haha. Not only in what your legs are doing but what your torso does through the release going through the roll. This is a great explanation!

Thank you for sharing! Even though I've danced contemporary/jazz for years,my floorwork and extension hasn't always been the best. I'm glad you really broke it down in an easily digestible and demonstrable way.

Nice. Yes the 2 min tutorials are not enough. Thanks for sharing. I love how slow you feed through you could totally go into chest stand from there!!! Now I just need your abs!
@VincentVis3 жыл бұрын
And indeed for the fish rolls that transition into, say, elbow lever, we are going to need an extra bit of control on the way down. That can in part be worked on with isometrics... but it's not ab-related :) More so, upper-body strength.

Thank you!! Best tutorial for that move
@stellaqian16454 жыл бұрын
Can you make a video of reverse this move? Starting on the belly and roll starts with the feet.
@VincentVis4 жыл бұрын
Only to be addressed once you have solid fish roll - for it would be viewed as the "negative" version of the movement you are describing

Wondering if anyone can give me some advice on how to roll onto my chest instead of going over my shoulder into a shoulder roll. I move my left arm round but I can’t seem to tuck my head under and roll onto my chest

I like this video and it helped my to some drgree, but the movement and placement of the hands seems to be important and you don't explain any of that. I always just get stuck with my head. I tuck it in and there it stays. When I try to move it to one side to roll over the opposite shoulder, I just fall to the side... The beginning you explain very thoroughly, but than just do the move I don't really get what has to move where.

I see what you mean Verena, indeed that hand placement is something I would have online students work on with other shoulder roll variations first, before addressing the fish roll. Both hands have to be very close to the chest early enough to be usable indeed. You can head to the Discord to show us what's blocking you :) discord.gg/s7jeMprzZT
