Acura as a brand has had many identities. It's been a sports car builder, but the main intention was to bring luxury to Honda in the United states. With the J series engine, all wheel drive, and having ultimate creature comforts the Acura RL was a great daily driver that almost nobody talks about. It's almost a VIP car without having to do the modification yourself. It's definitely a worthy competitor to other cars like the IS300,GS300, and other Japanese cars in it's class. Thanks for watching and see you next video!

The only reason the RL didn’t raise a lot of dust is cause of it’s price tag. It really won a lot of awards, but the overall price is what kept it out of the spotlight. Seriously though Acura really is King in its class 👑

Don't understand the hate in the RL. It's such a awesome car. The interior is so quiet. I absolutely love the interior, younger people will prefer the TL because of the design, me being 30 I am prefer the looks of the RL also the interior is so comfortable bose sound system is amazing. Revs Alot word bro, but I like to keep that car a secret to give that sleeper status. It makes plenty of power stock and the AWD def helps with the accel. I’ve got the 6spd Lexus IS250 which is also rare and many people don’t know bout it (basically a 4-door 86)

I have a 06 RL and today in 2024 it still has more options than many luxury cars sold today. It also has some of the best body lines. I'm dropped on some H&R springs on some 19" Rodrick wheels, Nighthawk Black Perl on black interior. I get complements everywhere I go the only thing is I always have to tell people it's an Acura because people think it's a Mercedes all the time. The only downside is unlike the TL's there is no aftermarket support at all and oem parts are getting rare and hard to find if you can find them at all.

Sleeper car built by Acura. I have a 2006 approaching 176k but runs and drives like brand new. Very smooth on the highway, roomy on longer trips & gets decent gas mileage to say its a 300HP RWD car. Lots of amenities & features. Outside of normal maintenance (timing belt, oil/filters), it's been COMPLETELY RELIABLE. I don't see a lot of em on the road but this is a great car to own if you are looking for a quality used ride without the fear of spending tons of $ (Audi's/BMW, Jaguar) on upkeep and repairs.

It should be criminal how forgotten these RLs are. These are some of the best, if not the best damn Acuras ever made. My 05 RL has 240,000 miles on it and it still idles so smooth and rides like a dream. It’s a phenomenal car. Funny thing is, I bought mine last year for $150. Previous owner thought the fuel pump had died on it and I just dropped a battery in it and the car fired right up.

Literally the whole video I was excited with you because these Acura V6 cars are so fun to daily drive and yet so darn comfortable to drive and tour in. I would have liked SH-AWD and features from the RL but in the end I settled for the because of the less weight and I live in the tropics so I never see snow. Thank you for the video.

Man should've done an Acura Legend it was supposed to be a legend and it holds almost no legacy. It shares an engine platform with the NSX and has great sound. There was also a manual option. It's a very under appreciated car in tuning. The gs model came with 230hp and it uses every bit of it

Im aware according to kbb the most is $7200.. my first offer was $6300- she declined and said lowest she'd take is $7500. Yup, so expensive over there arnt they!!.. My parents have one - they go for less than 12k with 100k km (60k miles) over here... So good when most of the cars we have are straight from Japan :D

Awesome car. Have had nine for 13 years. The car that I have had the longest. Driving it on a daily basis. About to replace original shocks, 107k trouble-free miles. The Powersteering pump was replaced at 80k and alternator at 90k 580 miles per tank on the freeway.

Back in 09 when i was 18 i had a 2004 acura TL the first year for the new body style. It had the 3.2 and i loved that car it looked great and was such a nice car all around, i went from a 91 5 speed s10 regular cab to the acura haha. I still look around from time to time if i can find a 07 or so TL type S with a 6 speed they had the 3.5 but where still fwd. super nice daily car and alot of nice materials and options. another nice car, if you could find one was a 3.2 tsx but you couldnt get the v6 with a stick in that car i dont think. smaller car it just feels more sporty with tighter but still comfy seats.

Honestly, those cars had more issues before launch than any other Acura made, at least in my career. Good car, but the styling didn't do it for most people and given the price and the issues those cars had, I'm not surprised that it's lost to history.

It had big shoes to fill being the successor of the legend. The tl had better sales just because of styling too. I still think this and the cl type s with 6 speed stick is underrated Acuras.

RLs are very underappreciated. Glad to see a 2nd gen TL get some love. Also, if that was the A-Spec, that would have a C35A motor, not a J35A.

I bought a 2006 RL a year ago and I love it. When I bought it it needed harmonic balancer and when shop had it I had them do timing chain at same time to save some money. And boy this is a great car and my daughter wants it when she gets her license in a few years. But yeah I love this car

I dailied a 96 Acura TL type S. I paid $850 including the registration and drove the hell out of it. The leather still smelt like a new baseball glove and everything worked flawlessly. Sadly it got totaled in a snow storm but man that was a really great car. I was surprised with how safe they are. I was involved in a pretty serious accident and all I got was a few scrapes and a sprained thumb. If I could every find another 96 I'd buy it in an heartbeat.
