And presumably all of the other residents were (like Pomni) more worried about how they couldn't remember their names/leave than coming up with a name for themself seeing as how they all at one point during the beginning tried to find a way out and in the end started becoming more accustomed to it. In the end, all of them getting their names the same way would cement how Pomni is not the first. Everything that she's doing and feeling is just another day to them.

It is the intro, what happens is that now we will see the complete intro without interruptions and since they already used kosmo to explain the abstracts, they will put pomni in his place and that's it.
