When I was in Jujitsu I remember grappling with someone who had many years of Judo training. Their timing is so perfect that they can feel exactly when to throw you it's pretty cool. Anyone else who tries to throw me doesn't get anywhere. Taking them down can be tricky, too.
@aplacetobewithmythoughts74282 жыл бұрын
Yeah it feels like you're just watching yourself be thrown when a good Judo guy goes for it

Sparring with a good judoka is a humbling experience. You don't even know you gave an opening or didn't stand stable and then you're looking at the roof.

No matter what anyone says, the amount of dedication to judo by this master SHOEI OONO could not have been attained without his devotion in hardest training. He is born to be the champion of this Japanese BUDOU.We all wish him well in the up and coming Tokyo Olympics. 👍🙏 Kimmi

In the first few throws when he meets with resistance he relaxes just a little bit and lets the opponent relax too, and then in that moment he just makes his move. Its the classic push pull exercise taken to the next level.

Simple moves that you learn within your first few months of training that anyone can do. And all he did was wait for the opportunity to present itself. Beautiful.

He has a fundamental and artistic level of understanding of energy, stays in the moment with quickness, and decides aggressively ahead of his opponents in a very fluid manner. His foundation with the ground is adaptive, rooted extremely well, independent of specific body parts. If he needs to use his head as a post, for example 1:10, it comes to him like breathing.

Yep, my neck would have snapped. I wonder why they don't fall cleanly with the neck tucked in. It is the first 3 months of Judo training, learning to fall. I see it often in tournaments, they just don't fall cleanly.
@princedesperado77876 жыл бұрын
because they do not want to lose,but that is a reason they might end up in a chair. I made that mistake as well my friend and tore a tendon in a sparring session. We need to learn to let our ego go sometimes. If you are already in the middle of the throw,better fall down,rather then try and avoid it somehow. We have to learn to lose sometimes.

I'm more into Kung Fu, so I never realized Judo could be so dynamic to watch. A couple of absolutely amazing throws here. There's a BJJ school near me, not MMA, but a real Gracie Jujitsu school just 10 minutes from me, and I understand that it is actually a style of Judo, regardless of what some of the children arguing here are saying. I think I'll go see how much the classes are.
@froz3ncat6 жыл бұрын
I'm 6 months late but hey, how it's going? Did you manage to go check out BJJ? I'm just asking cus I train BJJ; and just in case you didn't get to go check it out... It's really fun to train BJJ if you enjoy strategy and thinking. Kinda like physical chess.
@kovenmaitreya71845 жыл бұрын
yes but bjj is dedicated to judo newaza essentially. So 90% is ground fighting. But you get REAALLLLL good at that in a short time and can still dominant opponents like judo allows you to. Doing all grappling arts is best imo.
@hiddenone88445 жыл бұрын
Lol Kung fu
@hiddenone88445 жыл бұрын
Koven Maitreya yeah but BJJ doesn’t really emphasise on stand up grappling so it’s just assumed you go straight to the ground Should study both system to get an overall coverage
