The Amazing Scrawled Filefish with Rapid Color Change

File fish are one of several marine animals known for their rapid color change. Octopus and hogfish are also known for this amazing behavior. Scientists are researching how this happens to understand the connection between environmental perception, and control of the color change process.
This would beg to question whether its a stress response or something more intentional. What do you think?
