The lead in title is misleading. This video has nothing to do with a $4000,000 strad.

There's an intresting story in my family about a Stradivarius. My great-great-great grandfather was a music professor who had the pleasure of owning one. When he died, he left his violin to his son, my great-great-great uncle Paul. However, Paul was living in Canada at the time so his brother who lived in Torquay (remember the brother in Torqauy) sent it over to Canada. Sadly the violin went missing. Almost 40 years later, in the '80s. My grandad was watching the Antiques roadshow in Torquay when an old woman came on. She had an interseting item with, the item, a Stradivarius violin given to her by her father who inhereted it from his father. It turned out the brother has stolen it all along.

A supremely talented musician and genuinely-kind human being. I still remember his performance of "Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty" at the Canon City, Colorado; Seventh Day Adventist Church, and getting to met him afterward. One of my favorite Sabbath memories. Love this video!

This violin is made from wood obtained from maple trees planted by Stradivarius himself. The trees are tended to by virgins from the local village and watered with their tears. The tree is then cut down at midnight on the first full moon in May ( the feast month of the Virgin Mary) by monks from the Abbey of Monte Cassino. They are then not cut, but rather sanded down by hand from a whole tree to make one violin per tree. This is done by Luthiers were in their youth were the last castrati of the Papal choir.

Charming myth. The sound of the instrument would be unrecognizable to Stradivarius - his instruments have all been 'modernised': longer neck at increased angle, larger bass bar, metal strings, modern bridge, and played with a modern Tourte bow - the sound therefore is completely different compared to the original set-up, lower pitch, and gut strings etc.

As a stradivari violin owner, i was very grateful that i had the opportunity to own one.(my orchestra helped me loan the stradivarius violin) There's no really special about the stradivarius violin, the only thing i noticed that a stradivari violin is quite louder because mine has bigger sound holes and it has a masculine sound/deeper sound than other violins i had. But the difference i felt when playing the stradivarius violin for over a decade, it always remind me the way the violin and the wood vibrate and resonate.

wow dat first time i heard Oistrach I was so amazed , and yes dis dude just approved is seconds later . Sound can be sometimes something else than just air movement , it can be almost like synchronized with soul and mind , I rarely find instruments that could do this pleasure to me , to make me feel more alife . BUT I must say some instruments need to be just cleaned in a water because they are cursed and will after sound better ....and nononono nooope they wont breake . I did cleaning like that under little pressure to mine violin and now I can hear them better and they finally can make propper sounds . If one uses instrument that is cursed it will take their parts of soul away even curse them maybe even causing illness ... Truth
