People make fun of the "you took his picture, you know him" thing but it's not that far-fetched. Peter Parker regularly captures high-quality, up-close images of Spider-Man when nobody else can even get a glimpse of him on camera. If I wrote the script I would have Harry be like in his normal state but the retrovirus is slowly affecting him and after asking peter/spiderman kindly he puts on the glider and suit and battles spiderman. While trying to fight him he cuts spiderman and takes a little of his blood and retreats. He then injects himself with the blood and instead of healing the retrovirus begins to mutate him into the later green goblin. And through out the movie he becomes more and more grotesque looking.

And he then became just like Mr. Osborn in Tobey's spiderman trilogy, in the sense that Mr. Osborn was a good man until he took the serum. Just like the Harry in THIS triology, he took the serum in desperation, and it backfired. That's why he killed Peter's gf, because it quite clearly made him to where he wasn't the same Harry anymore. But what i'm trying to say, is that the Harry in this YT clip here, is pretty justified in this moment. That's it. The Harry in Tobey's trilogy actually tried to kill Peter, after he learned about Peter supposedly "killing" his father. But the Harry in Tobey's trilogy actually redeems himself in 3, because again, he didn't take the serum and had a chance to grow. Even tho I think he was justified for wanting to kill Peter, but that's another topic.

I actually liked his version of Harry. Everyone sees him as this spoiled rich kid with a famous father but he's actually a pretty down to Earth guy. My only gripe is I wish we could've seen a little bit more of how Peter and Harry were friends. I mean the first movie doesn't even name drop Harry and now the 2nd one shows them reconnecting like old times. I even felt for him when he was dying and needed Spider-Man's blood. Dane Dehaan got a lot of crap for this role but he wasn't a bad Harry. Him as the Green Goblin on the other hand... that's a different story. 😅😅

People love to hate this movie, but there's no knocking the acting. Dane, Andrew, Sally, and Emma in particular acted this film like it was a serious drama (when necessary). I think it's kind of hard to compare Harry's actors for the same reason its hard to compare Peter's. They're acting different material under different direction as slightly different characters. That's why with auditions they always have actors act the exact same scene with the same director, because that's the only way to properly compare them. I'm not saying you can't like one more than the other, it's just hard to say which actor is better themself.
