Co-host basically summed up my opinion of this movie... The only thing to add is this movie’s shear lack of originality pretending with little to no self awareness that people might have seen a little known movie called Spider-man back in 2002. With nothing new to offer to supplement Sam Rami’s heartfelt approach and the god awful CGI on the Lizard’s face with that routine climax, this movie could be best left forgotten. Yet a missed opportunity for not pushing the superhero genre forward in any meaningful way.

At least Sam Rami was able to tell a long-form story over the course of three films. TASM2 wasn't so lucky and if you saw Midnight's Edge's overview for Sony's Spider-Man plans after TASM2 you'd agree that the Rami Trilogy got off lucky.

I have to take most of this review with a HUGE grain of salt because, unlike these guys, I remember their review about Spider-Man 3. They fucking raved about that piece of shit. Well, okay; Venom was pretty cool and what they did with Harry Osborn was pretty cool. But the emo, jazz-hands Peter Parker is unforgivable. Also, Amazing Spider-Man fucking kicked ass!

I don't know what these guys are on? There has not been a good Spiderman movie since Spiderman 2. The Marc Webb movies sucked, no doubt about it but they still did SOME things well. Spiderman 3 was just an abortion with no redeeming qualities. Did SM3 resemble a Spiderman comic in ANYWAY?!? People like to pretend that the Sam Raimi movies were the ideal Spiderman adaptation. Although the Sam Raimi films were WAAAY better than Marc Webb's movies the truth is...they are overrated. There I said it! And if you take off your nostalgia goggles before watching them you will see it.
