He is amazing & inspiration. Despite having a challenging health disability, he didn’t get discouraged but overcame challenges & is thriving. Diners in NJ & NY are one of my favorite things. Delis & diners are one of the treasures of the northeast which cannot be matched. Most places have chains but here are blessed with neighborhood Mom & Pop diners that are parts of the fabric of the community. Kudos to John & congrats on your diner Bendix being named one of the best.

It truly is amazing how our other senses make up for the missing ones. My former partner suffered severe dyslexia and when he grew up in a rural school they had no idea what was wrong but did know he was extremely smart with a fantastic memory. Its amazing what a well trained memory can do!

I used to go there in the '90s when me and my friends were in our '20s. It was a great late night stop for food before heading home. John was my waiter many times and every single time a class act and an amazing waiter. At that time I had no idea that his parents actually owned the place and now he does. And super impressive about his kids as well. Glad to see him still doing well.
