One of the things we like to get across is that Derek is part of a much larger community of musicians with special abilities and needs. We hope you enjoy this showreel from last year's @theambertrust concert in London featuring Derek and many other talented performers. Derek has always been a trailblazer for this community and he has many strong relationships with the people within it.

The Amber Trust charity was founded by Derek's mentor Adam Ockelford in order to provide musical opportunities and support to blind, partially sighted and neurodivergent children. For many children in this situation, who may be non-verbal or struggle with language, music can be an absolutely vital lifeline. Derek remains an Amber Trust patron to this day and has a wonderful time performing with his friends at these events.

Interesting, but it is almost painful to watch these poor souls producing themselves in front of an audience, when they would clearly prefer to be elsewhere. Besides, musically, very average, despite the general technicality.
