That tip on how to avoid joint glue lines down the leg is brilliant! This makes me more willing to take on legs that need laminating multiple pieces to accomplish size where very thick timber is not available. Unbelievably smart tip...I never ever would have thought of that. A true craftsman you are. Thank you for going through the filming effort to put out these videos.

I'm a hobbyist amateur from the USA. I love your videos. Not only are you building great stuff, but also keep it entertaining and interesting. I learn something new in every single video that I watch as well. Others channels may have more subs, but not many have as much knowledge, experience, and skill as you have.... and it shows. Great video. I learned a lot.

I'm REALLY looking forward to part 2! This video really makes me think of some of your points about design in the most recent Shopstool Podcast. If someone who wasn't a furniture make tried to design a sliding/extending dining table would they even have thought to include any sort of hardware or joinery?! Not just function of extension but subtler things like the straight grain glue ups for the leg blanks! What would the design of this piece have looked like in the hands of a non-maker? Strange to think about!
