I kind of wonder if the Sebastian couple were trying to imitate other wrestling films of the era like , Grunt-The Wrestling Movie (1986) and No Holds Barred (1989) , by trying to look authentic and casting known wrestlers. I think a silver lining was Magnificent Mimi's involvement did lead to a career in motion pictures and television.
