My girl and I were there for that show. Even though we're not together anymore it was an AMAZING performance and probably a show I'll never forget. Can't wait to see them again.

If you are and og Amity affliction fan you know that he was the original drummer before ryan
@banshee9699 Жыл бұрын
That is very false. Lachlan Faulkner was the original drummer then another after him before ryan.

I’m in no way a drummer but as someone whose been a fan of Amity for years I can honestly say I hate Joe’s style of drumming. Don’t get me wrong he’s not terrible but so far from what I’ve heard from the last two album his drumming is so bland and generically structured. What I love about Ryan’s drumming was it is so creative best example of this is Bondi St. Blues, Ryan’s drumming felt like a unique second song that blended in with the rest of the band. Again Joe isn’t terrible it’s just not at Ryan’s level.

Well, that’s because the new amity songs ARE generic as fuck. He just plays to the songs. Have you listened to his main band Defeater or watched some of his playthroughs? Watch the Defeater - Bastards playthrough or the Audiotree live version of „no savior“... he is one of the most creative minds in the genre when it comes to writing drums. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rIa4gmOLqtmFp7M kzbin.info/www/bejne/e4bVXoinas6cbLM

I don’t think Joe is better or worse than Ryan but Ryan definitely had his own style, I just hope the next album they let Joe do more of his own thing and not keep having him do all the cookie cutter metalcore fills and grooves

It’s simple, sure, but it fits the music and he plays it well, which is all that matters.

Marc Dunn music doesn’t always have to be “look how many notes I can play” joe is able to play more complicated music but why overdo it if you can make money doing the less intensive stuff? It’s called work smarter not harder. Besides, he’s clearly enjoying it. As someone who enjoys more complicated/progressive metal you have to be a well versed musician. Never EVER stick to just one kind of music.

Look up delta empire if you want to see a real drummer.

@@JK-fr7dz "if you want to see a real drummer", get that shit out of here. you can play that card for so long until you reach those that you can't argue if you play the drums. Tony Williams, Joe Morello, Art Blakey, Max Roach, Virgil, Marco, Bobby Jarzombek, the list goes on. He plays the music, he's a "real" drummer. He gets the gigs and plays the drums for thousands of people, something that many of us dream of. Have some respect

Jared Kelley This is more of a “single” type song so the drums aren’t crazy. Did you watch the other video of him with Amity on this channel? And I just looked up Delta Empire and from all the videos I saw, Joe wouldn’t have a problem being able to play all of those songs...
