Excellent video. I have visited Tiryns several times and find it even more atmospheric than Mycenae. A wonderful place but often you have it almost all to yourself. Standing where the throne room once stood the views across the Argolid really resonate with the works of Homer and ancient Greek legends. There is a depth of history here that is almost unique and lonely Tiryns excites the imagination. A wonderful place to stop and reflect on the depths of history.

Thank you for your comment, Colin! We're so glad you enjoyed the video. We definitely agree. Tiryns is also one of our favourite sites. Mycenae is great, but it is so crowded with much of it closed off. Mythology and ancient history do come to life in a wonderful way at this site! More videos to come!

Thank you, Richard. So glad you enjoyed the video. The heat (about 45 degrees Celsius) was actually a blessing as we were able to roam the site undisturbed by anyone else. It would definitely have been much busier in the Heroic Age! Thank you for your comment.

Amazing!! The best people on youtube should get many subscribers and others who do I do not understand how. This is excellent!! I was here in 2015. Can't believe that long ago. I must get back there. Too much to see in Greece. My mom is Italian and my dna had so much Greek DNA. love that feeling. Especially being Sicilian and Neapolitan Italian.

We are always trying to draw more people's attention to our KZbin channel, so please do share with your fellow history-lovers. More videos to come soon!

Thank you! I was there in April and it was empty, just me and my wife. It's incredibly wonderful and I felt strangely at home. That is, until the keeper closed us in.😅. It's a place that talks silently with you, just like the video.

Amazing walk through! It is amazing to think that this citadel existed and so many question on how all these gigantic stones have been transferred! It is said that Hercules place was there and once was in its prime at 1400 BC Mycines years until the decline came... Thank you for sharing - Subscribed

@07:13, Prodomos and Hall, Are those new concrete slabs or original stones?
@eaglesanddragonspublishing
@eaglesanddragonspublishing 4 ай бұрын
Good question, Ryan. That is a thin layer of modern concrete spread over the ancient flooring. This is often done with heritage buildings and archaeological sites as it can be 'undone' easily enough without damaging the original remains beneath. It also protects the site from all the tourists who come to explore this amazing site. Thank you for watching!

Super film.

Mamy nadzieję, że ten film pomógł Ci trochę go poznać, nawet wirtualnie. Dziękuję za Twój komentarz.

Thanks a lot FROM BUCHAREST ROMANIA 🍀... Those frescos are very much similar to the Minoans ones in Cnossos Crete../ ! Strong links between Minoans & Myceenians ... Although not identical populations... RIGHT!?

We're happy that you enjoyed the video! Yes, the frescoes are indeed similar to those found at Knossos and there was definitely interaction between the two cultures, though, not always on friendly terms ;) Thank you for your comment!

So the Greeks of the classical age never linked these structures to the Myceneans, that they have heard so much about (Homer's epic was thought even in their schools) and decided to call them " one eyed giant" made, lacking a more plausible explanation. Sweet. .
