The people reacting to the humans burying the box as though it was a dumb idea shows the reactors aren't the brightest. Burying it in a random location in the middle of nowhere with nothing to tell you where it is only for the location to die with the ones that bury it is the best idea. Happened throughout actual history where tombs and other treasures locations died with the ones that buried it.

Look at great khans tomb for example, all those that knew the location either died or committed suicide, leaving it hidden still. People forget how much can be truly forgotten and lost with the passage of time. In retrospect most things we find simply underground or just in some dug up hole. Not far fetched that early humans would’ve just dropped it somewhere randomly remote and take the secret to the graves with them. Many throughout history have done the same.

No. The rest of the story was told off screen. Darkseid went back home and fought his dad with the help of his brother Highfather for the throne of Apokolips. Most of his forces got decimated in that war. Then after he succeeded he went out seeking the Omega Force which changed him from Uxas to Darkseid. So a lot happened after this encounter on Earth. You also need to remember that Apokolips exists outside the multiverse. Which means that Darkseid has to comb through BILLIONS of worlds to find THIS Earth's location again

The Amazon's with their more advanced security and Atlanteans with their more advanced technology and security had their boxes taken first compared to the box that was given to man and just buried in the middle of nowhere. Man was probably even smarter than the other two for doing this. An unknown location compared to the others that can be found by following the security guarding the boxes. But, there's cons to it too ig. So it all balances out.

I love how there are those who made fun of thinking Darkseid forgetting the world that he lost, like they couldn't put two & two together about him losing the mother box was The factor he couldn't find back Earth in this vast universe....also to note he comes from a universe far bigger & outside the DC multiverse. The Mother Box is not something he can make one, it was only a possession created by something far ancient than him. Losing it was like losing a tracking device. It was only until the Box awakened that it re-opened the gateway allowing Steppenwolf to track down Earth. Why not Darkseid? Well he was busy in establishment of his throne back home, acquiring the Omega power & ruling Apokolips. He only wants Earth to acquire the last piece of power, the Anti Life Equation....something only He can decipher & use. Its like the infinity stone equivalent but once he gets it the entire DC mutiverse will be affected.

Dude was able to handle Zeus’s lightning and Artemis’s arrows. He was extremely powerful even back then. He lost to Ares who is known as what? Yeah, the god of war. Ares was at his peak power during this war, which is why he ended up landing a blow on Uxas. The fact that Uxas was only knocked out by an overpowered Ares should tell you that Uxas is powerful. Regardless, Uxas ends up becoming Darkseid which is who we see through the portal at the end of this movie.
