Rationalizing the irrational is a mainstay requirement of religious belief. When your belief is not rationally credible, just use your imagination to invent some way to pretend it is.

"Erasmus is good to his word actually included that first John passage there [,] in his third edition he took it back out" -- ??? Wasn't the Johannine Comma in Erasmus' third edition (1511); but not in his second edition (1519). Luther relied on Erasmus' second edition (1519), and so the Johannine Comma is not present in the Luther NT. But Tyndale's NT, which was based on Erasmus' third edition (1522), has the Johannine Comma.

@NothingButTheTruthInChrist But it has ZERO Greek mss support prior to the 16th century.

@NothingButTheTruthInChrist That's circumstantial evidence, if we are judging by modern rules of evidence. As such, it's not direct evidence; which would generally be stronger; but not always. The fact remains, as of today, that there are no Greek mss witnesses for the Comma earlier than the 16th century. We can certainly decide to accept those secondary sources, like the later Latin Vulgate, since the Comma does not violate Trinitarian theology (obviously), and we may have accepted Septuagint citations that may have weak or no underlying Hebrew/ Aramaic mss support. That last comment is complete conjecture on my part; which remains subject to correction.

@NothingButTheTruthInChrist You believe God preserved His Word exclusively in the 1611 KJV? I believe God preserved His Word in the body of extant original language manuscripts. I may prefer the KJV; but not because all modern translations are inferior. I've read the KJV for over 30 year, so all of my Bible memory is KJV. I also prefer the declension in the KJV's grammar; which was not the grammar in the 17th century.

@NothingButTheTruthInChrist Right, the main message of the KJV and almost all modern English translations are the same with regard to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

@NothingButTheTruthInChrist "I'm someone who accepts this and the Adulterous Woman section as part of scripture simply due to believing God preserved His word well. " -- Also, if we hold to the Comma as being an authentic text in the original autographs, then we should do so only on the basis of faith; not on any historical argument. This also applies to the anyone holding a view of the 1611 KJV, or its subsequent 1769 Blayney Oxford edition, as being perfect. If we construe the KJV as a perfect translation (i.e., needing no further corrections) then we must abandon all arguments that pertain to its history; e.g., Masoretic Text and Textus Receptus textual basis and the qualifications of the translators, among other things.

The ancient texts disagree with you. There are confirmed additions/changes/edits of the biblical texts by scribes. All you have to do is look at the copies and you can see them. Those changes are still in the Bible you read today.

@@davidchupp4460 You need to do some research on ancient texts as they relate to christianity, and especially how the KJV came about. And I don't care what "god" said since I don't believe any claims about the supernatural due to a severe lack of evidence to justify belief.

No the argument that a scribe would add to the holy word is another lie. True believers will have been deathly afraid to add to or subtract from the text. But of course heretical teachers wouldn’t have a problem changing the word.

@@davidchupp4460 In Acts, it gives a fact that Paul went outside Damascus to Jerusalem directly. In Galatians, it gives a fact that Paul went outside Damascus to Arabia then went back to Damascus then went to Jerusalem. James demands to keep the law of the Torah and ask Paul to repent and give an atonement while Paul claim to be sent to Gentiles and also ask the Jews to throw Low of Torah that was written by God in the garbage 🗑 In Acts it didn't say to Barnabas to bring Paul to Antioch.
