But no mention of the cut steps or the dog iron staples - ? Obviously someone decided to have a better view from the top, but it would be good to know who and maybe why.

first of all remains the question: who put there? because someone PUT it there ... .

@@felice9907Glacial deposit - ? 🤔

@@felice9907 Has to be glacial movement as there probably wasn't any technology available at the time to shift such a large boulder the location.

The first thing I would do is have a look from the top. I have climbed ( scrambled up not exactly mountaineeing) a few of these rocks in the Staffordshire area where they are plentiful. Most dumped during one of the 3 ice ages we know of. Interesting video thanks.

Can't help- but notice the similarity in name to the Agglestone Rock in Dorset.

I take its either in an old glacier valley ? or the spaceship ran out of fuel on the way to Stonehenge and had to drop it early ?

One of my favourite places...I have held Stanton Moor in my heart for over half a century and visit at least twice a month...I thought you may have mentioned the Folklore about the Stone turning around at midnight which grants anyone watching the spectacle eternal life...Cheers Les.🙂👍
