Totally with you - The Architect is definitely one of my favorite albums from the past few years. Why they aren't as big as DGD is beyond me

eidola was already one of my favorites before the architect dropped, but that album, especially after the lyrics clicked in my head, has become one of my favorite albums of the 2020s in any genre.

Agreed completely, The Architect was my album of the year without a doubt! This song was also incredibly good and I can't wait for their new album. Btw, have you heard Crybaby by Galleons? Andrew does an awesome feature in that song, one of the best this year (even better than this one imo, especially the final 45 seconds)

How you did not find it a banger from the first listen i dont know. Im sure it will grow to you. Im very happy that the melodic work and structure is more on the side of the architect than the side of degeneraterra ot, to listen. One thing ive found interesting is that they did a restless verse thats always building up - just like in Counterfeit. To me its Odd cause generally you expect the verses to be a more fixed or static place. And in Counterfeit they did that weird structure where the first chorus never comes back and the intro plays instead of a breakdown - genius actually. And here you have thar passing point which has the same cadence (the "tyrants and believers" and "liers and decievers" parts) but with absolutelly different feels - both leading to the verse --- and they basiically end with the verse, that plays twice in the song but the second one is to close it. I mean, we are so accostummed with standard structures that to me this stands out immediatelly

Definitely see that. It has such a progressive metalcore mix and tone, but still sounds like post-hardcore, it's awesome. The riffs and mix of prog metalcore and phc reminded me of one specific band a little bit that unfortunately stopped making music: Napoleon. I always wondered why more people didn't make stuff that sounded like them. It's quite a bit screamier, but the guitar work is right in this pocket. Their song Napoleon - Afterlife is a good first listen
