19:30 for anyone who might not know, dubstep was invented in the very late 90s in the underground london EDM scene. I don't think an American alt metal band had any influence on that when their dubstep album came out very late 2011.

I do enjoy the shenanigans of things like this and with me being a Korn fan for ages I do wonder why some metal fan bases don't at all always respect one's opinion. Korn fanboy I am indeed but not all Korn albums are strong and we all have separate views than being biased for liking everything the band's done lol
@themetalmeltdownofficial2 жыл бұрын
I think some metalheads just love certain bands and albums so much that they just don't want to be challenged on their views at all, and therefore get upset when they are challenged in any capacity. On KZbin especially, metalheads often look to be validated, to be told that 'you're right, x band is poser shit and y band isn't' and so on and so forth.

Incredible to think that people can watch honest reviews in 2022 and if they don't agree with an opinion they blow up. Thought your review was spot on; I like half of what Korn have done, and think the other half sucks, and Requiem is a dud. Anyone who enjoys it, fine, good for them, but having low standards and enjoying music that's sub-par isn't ammunition for a word-war and half the people who moan about reviewers having an opinion that differs just want you to agree with their take instead. Which is hilarious.

Fanboys of the world.... grow up. 1. All reviews are subjective and, despite the internets desire to bully everyone into the narrow mindset of group mentality, every person is allowed to have their opinions. 2. Just because someone does not share your opinion of anything, DOES NOT MEAN YOU CANNOT ENJOY IT!!! For me the best reviews are always those that give me throw description of the music contained within the album whether or not the person actually enjoyed it or not doesn't matter to me I like plenty of albums that critical opinion has dammed. 3. Think of what all of you could have accomplished president senior fuming over the opinions of an Internet creator. My God if we could harness all that wasted energy we absolutely could change the world but instead will just sit here and bitched out somebody's opinion about corn a band that while I still do tend to enjoy them , I admitted a long time ago they had long starting to become a one-trick pony. Sometimes the trick is still good when the album kicks ass and there's passion behind it and sometimes the trick is a drag. For example when he reviewed every Korn album I personally did not agree with his assessment of the first album completely. I thought he had some valid points but overall I was not in complete agreement that didn't stop me from enjoying the damn album. I guess all of you out there and internet Lan will do whatever you want and I'll probably get some backlash for this, but Jesus Christ don't you have something better to do with your day then like to try to trash somebody for their opinion on an album that nobody will remember five years from now?

Some people are definetly lacking maturity and criticism to be offended so much by a review. Despite i really enjoy the album in question (It's been on repeat since the day it came out), i still enjoyed your review and i agree on certain aspects and problems you mentioned (For example, the production).Still in love with their style and that's merely subjective. Overall, i think it's below the previous two efforts also due to its shortness and basic structures. Keep doing what you love and negative reviews are very useful, especially when It shows how much you care about music and the effort you put into the channel. Otherwhise, we would get crappy albums and people would still love them for the band logo on it.

Dubstep was around for 20 years before TPOT. Seriously? What about Burial? Justin Broadrick's JK Flesh? Goth Trad? Early The Body (yes, The Body played dubstep before becoming an industrial doom metal band - dubstep was a garage and industrial subgenre)? I say it as both a Korn and dubstep fan (who also loves Cult Of Luna and has listened to your review about The Long Road North, agreeing with you: COL aren't exactly digestable for everyone). Edit: I hope you get that most people who tell you that "you haven't played an instrument" usually play nothing themselves and think of pretty easy stuff to play as "godlike" or simply argue that in order for you to have an opinion, you should play what THEY like, not what makes you improve. Personally, Korn has always been my favourite band, but I can't deny that I agree with literally EVERYTHING you said about Requiem. Unlike you, I couldn't make up to complete the album's whole listening (I've listened to it during the "live event on KZbin) and it literally bored me tf out. Unlike you, I didn't enjoy Untitled, except for JD's vocal performance and Terry Bozzio's drums and always Unlike you I really liked The Long Road North by COL. It's simply a matter of TASTE. We can't agree about everything, I hope that these retards who insulted you grow up and understand it. We all agree that the guys in Korn are competent musicians, as we can all agree that every musician makes music that sometimes isn't well received by critics, fans, sometimes by neither of them, and that they can also divide the fanbase (Whitechapel anyone? Ulver, including Avicii's remixes of "The Assassination Of Julius Caesar"?) What I hate is the incoherence, elitism (yes elitism, many Korn fans act like a cult) and narrow - mindedness. Music is art, and it should be considered as such. Not everyone can digest Jackson Pollock's work, and THAT'S OKAY. Keep up with the work, you're doing great for what concerns me.
