Username babybirds. Status nm. This happens because of a common issue in online games where the system fails to update a player's status properly. In Animal Jam, if an avatar appears online but their username says they were last active 5 days ago, it could be due to a "ghost account" or a session glitch. Here's an explanation: When a player logs out or disconnects improperly (e.g., due to internet issues, game crashes, or closing the app without logging out), their avatar might remain in the game as a "ghost" The server doesn't fully remove their character from the game world, so their avatar is still visible. However, their account status (like the "active 5 days ago" indicator) reflects when they actually last played. Since the ghost avatar isn't connected to an active player, interacting with it won't trigger any responses because there's no player controlling it. This glitch typically resolves itself after the server refreshes or the player logs back in.

this is a glitch i experimented with before, about 3 years ago! when you create a new account and you're put into the game you don't get logged out no matter how long you're afk for. You can be online for a week or even months and AJ won't log you out. This only works when you're put into the game straight after you make an account. The "5 days ago" text is the date the account was made and put into the game but since they haven't logged out since it registers it as the first and only login.

what i first thought was that they logged out, yet animal jam still thought they were online since this has happened to me before. sometimes i'll log out of an alt account and i'll notice it still shows up as online, despite literally just logging out. either way, its really interesting.

This happened with a wolf once like last year and he was standing there for 3 days straight in jamaa and i'd check up on him, then once when i was talking to some people confused by him, HE MOVED. And was like "oh lol i left my computer on idk how that happened" idk how he didnt time out!

I could see this being a person just experimenting with animal jam’s servers (seeing how long a server can stay up with atleast 1 person in it, seeing if any issues arise if a person stays online but not actively interacting with the game, testing if any issues arise for staying as a New Jammer when their name is probably already approved). If it is, then they’ve atleast got one result so far with the “active 5 days ago” status

I don't know if it's still there but there's also this jammer in a jamma township, spanish servers, that would always just be afk there, not responding to anyone, and when I talked with the regular spanish server players they claim it had been there for quite a while, maybe it's gone now it was like on june.

I almost wonder if it was originally made to farm gems, especially because he's positioned so close to the game and it can be pretty predictable. He might not have fully exited out of the game and you don't get the achievements until you leave the game tab so that might be a real possibility. Other option is that maybe it's a bot that ajhq themselves has put in, maybe as an attempt to be able to monitor when servers go down.

Two quick things: 1) Are toucans non-member animals? If so, I guess I've never noticed until watching this video. 2) Following up on that and this video, I have noticed a few animal glitches in the past month or so including being able to access member animals you own as a non-member. I was swimming in the Bay the other day as an Otter and didn't think much about it at first then I remembered I was at NM stats...is this happening to anybody else? Is there another glitch similar to this one floating around?
