The Animated History of the Albanians - The Lahuta of Albania (2017)

This is a animated short of the Albanian peoples history from the Illyrian period to late 20th century. The Instruments used in this video are the Albanian drums (tupana), Lahuta (from the latin word "lute", or known as gusle, or horse-fiddle) and qifteli (albanian folk lute).
Welcome to this channel. I am the head of Ulpian Records, a group aiming to create a whole new genre; Albanian Folk Metal or Folk Music, or as we prefer to call it, "Illyrian Metal". The channel is devoted to the Folk Music of Albania or possibly the Balkans. The goal is to invent a new sound; An Albanian Folk Metal, much like other European Folk Metal bands with pagan elements.
The instruments used are: The gusle, drums, qifteli, (short-neck lutE) sharki (long-neck lute) mishnic (bagpipe) and flutes.

We don't call it "gusle" in albanian (that's how slavs call it and is the slavic term btw). We call it *"lahutë".* Also; it's not "qifteli", but *"Çifteli".*

I'm from Serbia. And from mother's side, i have albanian origin from place called Kukeš. From there, my family have moved to Štimlje on Kosovo. It's orthodox family, surname Talić. And i'm proud with that. This life is not here for us to gain more and more hate on each other. Southern part of Serbia, then Kosovo, Macedonia, Albania and part of Montenegro, very similar genetics. And i am much more similar to People from Albania or Kosovo, then to someone who have Slavic genes. Wish u all the Best my Albanian brothers, let's create some better future, without hate. All of us balkaners are very similar, I could actually say we're the same. Like all this history had us blended for many years. Either that's under Roman, or Byzantine, or ottoman rule, we've had similar history for many centuries and, especially during the ottoman rule, we've mixed a whole lot. What's actually kept us separated and get us hate one another is the foreign powers like USA, UK, Russia, France and Germany. That was throughout all of these years, even till today. Just imagine all of the Balkan nations united as one (including nations outside the peninsula like Cyprus and Moldova). Our nations have so many natural resources. In terms of energy, tourism, ancient spots, agriculture and many many more, if we were all united as one, we'd be a global power in economy and with a right leadership we'd also be a military power. So what I think is that we should put outside our differences and become one. We can even take over the world if we're united rather than separated
