Hey everyone we just wanted to make a correction at 4:33 Under Night was developed by French Bread, creators of Melty Blood with Arcsys acting as the publisher. We did a re-record after catching this mistake, but the files were mixed up during the editing process resulting in the correction not making it into the final version.

Under Night wasn't created by Arc System Works (ASW), they just published it. French Bread is the actual developer for Under Night. A better example was Blazblue, which was the next FG from ASW did, because at the time ASW didn't have Guilty Gear IP rights, they were in Sammy hands. Just a minor note at 7:07: The character Ogawa used isn't called Eddie anymore from Xrd onwards. His name is Zato-1. Eddie is the name of Zato's shadow partner. While it's true that Zato was called Eddie back in XX due to the fact that Eddie took over his body, his name was eventually changed back to signify his revival. Other than that, great work! There are at least 3 errors within this video, but overall this is a great video!!: 1. Visual error in 4:22, the information is right but the one true sequel mentioned was Guilty Gear XX, while the one shown was Accent Core 2. Incorrect information at 4:30, Under Night in Birth development was done by Soft Circle French Bread, but was published by Arc System Works. One notable game that should be mentioned first would be BlazBlue, as it's an original IP of theirs that was made during the haitus of Guilty Gear 3. Accident on 8:10, Omito Hashimoto is the champ of Xrd Revelator/Rev2, Johnny was never playable in Xrd Sign. I understand the mistake though, as the games are very similar in name Optional: in 6:53, you say that this guy's main was Eddie in the old games, though I think you should also mention that he was and is now Zato-1 again. However, this may not be necessary.

Play guilty gear, or fighting games in general, there are many people willing to help you out alone the way and it takes time to be competent at it. It took me 4 or 5 months to finally get what I'm doing in DBFZ and now I have fun labbing and playing matches with my brother. You don't need to buy an arcade stick to be good either, just use what you got; a keyboard or pad will work just as well or even better in some cases. Check twitter for more info about your game, join discord servers and subreddits to get as much help and info as possible. I recommend checking Sajam's videos about him playing new fighting games, and how to learn it too.

Great video! Just like to point a few things in the video that may need correcting: 1) Under Night was created by French Bread, maybe you meant to say BlazBlue which was created by ArcSys and there’s a whole other rabbit hole for that game’s development. 2) The memorable Nage vs. Omito match happened at Evo Japan 2018, not 2019. 3) A bit nit picky but, Guilty Gear Xrd would be the correct nomenclature for the 2014 “aesthetic”Guilty Gear. “Sign” was when it first came out then it was updated to “Revelator” and then “Revelator 2 or Rev2”. Sign, Revelator and Rev2 are all just Guilty Gear Xrd at different points of its update progress. Great video none the less and keep up the good work!

Decades of the franchise selling less and less with each entry will do that to you. Also, seeing the biggest fighting game on the planet (Smash Brothers) embarrass the rest of the genre by selling shitloads of copies while having simple controls doesn't help.
@MrPomegranX3 жыл бұрын
@@RicochetForce At least smash can work with the simple controls (free movement, high need to learn different combos and resets for different character sizes and weights, the whole addition of recovery) and being unique as a fighting game. Guilty Gear in Strive feels more soulless. It’s more SFV then Guilty Gear
@joeqiao16913 жыл бұрын
@@MrPomegranX Bro have you even played strive? Even when the combo system is shortened the core assets that make guilty Gear one of the hardest fighting games is still there. The RC system still makes neutral really frantic and allows way more free styling than any other 1on1 fighting game made during the last 5 or so years. You still have to choose between 4 types of blocking. Mobility is still really good even if u can't IAD like before. The game still favours aggression and heavy mixup play, but now u just don't have to break your hands doing very long combos. The way you approach everything outside of combos is still very much like older GG titles.
@MrPomegranX3 жыл бұрын
@@joeqiao1691 If it favors risk why is jumping so unrisky? If it favors mix up why does dropping a combo near the wall not heal the wall leading to a wall break (which resets it to neutral)? I’m glad now they are looking to fix some of these problems (they mentioned the jumping one recently) but they’ve been in the game for the almost two years it’s been tested. I want this game to be good but so far they’ve just took away and replaced it with little to nothing
@joeqiao16913 жыл бұрын
@@MrPomegranX Jump is not the problem, holding up back is, which is why we all wrote in feedback for that issue and why Arcsys is looking into balancing tweaks. Anti airs had too much committment or don't lead to any meaningful damage which makes holding up back too good. I also have issue with how wall splatting works because it takes away some of the decisions, but I already provided feedback on the last beta survey and I'm waiting for the next beta to see what happens. You gotta remember the game couldn't be play tested by a large number of testers due to Covid, which is why the first beta basically acted as one and why Arcsys is delaying the game to make these changes.

As much as I hate Overture, it isn't a spinoff: it's the true sequel to Guilty Gear The Missing Link. The fighting games were the spinoffs (X-X2-AC, not counting re-releases), since all of them focus on the "Guilty Gear" Dizzy. Her sole existance can bring peace or doom. As for Xrd onwards, GG main line returns to be Fighting Games, this time focusing on the Valentines. Also, pointing the usual: UNIEL wasn't made by ASW, you should use BlazBlue as a better example since the Copyright Limbo with Sammy, yaddayadda. Zato was renamed Eddie during a time due to respect for Kaneto Shiozawa (Zato's OG voice) passing away.

But regarding Sol, since Sakurai tests the waters for a DLC mainly with japanese fans, i do incline to say that Sol is really likely for the next game as DLC, as well as Heihachi (finally, i do incline to say that back in smash for Wii u, Sakurai wouldn't have had a way to make him properly, but seeing how he implemented the fighting game characters looking directly to their opponent, and the use of more complex inputs than the standard hadouken, i think he'll finally be able to make him as well). @Aripuni13 жыл бұрын
Why didnt you mention Blazblue ??, UNI is developed by French bread and published by arcys, Blazblue is another big title by arcys beside GG

This video really should be how Zinac saved guilty gear. Without him strive wouldn't have rollback net code in the first place

i've only ever played Street Fighter, tiny bit of KOF. Strive is the first anime fighter I will play...game looks fucking nuts

I'm glad GG is becoming more mainstream but sucks that its only happening now with Strive ( that toned down the mechanics quite a lot.)

@Kayden McCallum you have street fighter for that

i barely knew about guilty gear for years, in fact i think the first time i knew about it was a magazine preview about the nintendo ds game, yes, guilty gear have a ds game. anyway, the game looked too anime for me, the desings and style was overexagerated, not apealing, then more than 10 years later in school somebody have on his laptop the guilty gear xrd, this person just install it, was the irst time playing it, and was against me, oh my god the graphics, people say never judge a book by the cover or a game by the graphics, well, i did it, only fell in love with the graphics, never cared about the game, but then install it on my pc and damn, the game is amazing, the gameplay is perfect, stil, the graphics are the best thing of the game, i dont even care for the story, is fun to play but i dont know who im using but doesnt matter, the graphics are amazing

Strive looks nice. But it's gonna play like SFV. Big step down from xrd. I implore anyone that is seriously interested in checking out accent core and xrd if you want to see how guilty gear in its best form actually plays
@Thermalfusi0n3 жыл бұрын
@Kayden McCallum if you're talking about Strive then the answer is simple. The fans of the previous games don't want it to play like a slowed down SFV clone. They changed characters like ramlethal almost completely, destroyed one of the most important things of GG, The freedom of the Gatling combo system, blew up the damage to the moon, and reduced the importance of combos I'm general, changed the Roman cancels and Oki is neutered to a point where it's almost less present than in SF. It's barely even a guilty gear game compared to predecessors. But I guess they want the DBFZ and SFV players. I will admit that SFV looks decent nowadays. But it took it 5 seasons to have any variety in v triggers and skills and FINALLY a defensive option with v shift. But this discussion isnt about SF

If you actually played it you'd know it doesn't play like sfv such a ignorant take and why would anyone go back to xrd with the terrible netcode and borderline dead playerbase
@Thermalfusi0n3 жыл бұрын
@@kei7540 Xrd doesnt have rollback but its netcode is still several times better than other fighters. Ive fought multiple people around me without any problems up to 4f delay. And I dont need to tell you the reasons again, they are all in my original comment. At the same time I ask you. For someone who has enough opponents to fight: why would I play Strive, which is missing many of Xrds features ? And if you dont like Xrd specifically, why not play Accent Core instead ? Again, enough people to play. You just need to look for a community. If your motivation is to play ranked for a shiny jpg at the edge of your name, then I already know where your opinions are coming from.

@@Thermalfusi0n Strive is new, xrd is borderline dead on ps4 combo trials are the thing left to do, accent core is good and it has A.B.A who I like but again just playing the same people gets boring Strive is gonna be big many players to fight and a fresh new experiences I really couldn't care less about the change fun is all that matters xrd and accent core are good but old why take a step back when you can move forward with everyone else.
@Thermalfusi0n3 жыл бұрын
@@kei7540 I understand your points. I agree its nice to have big userbase. Its just a shame the game itself had to take a big step back in order for this to happen. See for me the fun was all those mechanics that have been nerfed in Strive. No oki, corners break, 6 hit combos for 50% HP. Lets hope it actually works and the game is accessible enough for casuals now, like they wanted
