Season 1 of this anime was released on Jan 4, 2024. This anime has not yet been renewed for a second season. There is a manga that you can read if you want. Oh man the battle against the dragon and the resolution and all that comes next is just amazing, after that the world really grows a lot with each episode, what starts as a simple let's save my sister evolves into something so complicated with so many conflicting points of view about what to do! Also we got best cat-girl Izutsumi

@@manuel8123 Yeah, the series peaked on that fight for me, but especially what came imediately after. That's not a slight on what came after either, it's all SO MUCH better than the first arc. I think it was just having the rug pulled from under my feet with the story going "no, we're taking ourselves seriously too" that made that **SPOILER** image of Marcille in her necromancer rags so stunning. The comic relief character was basically the deuteragonist AND antagonist, all in plain sight.

@Gogito4 *BIG Spoilers* Yeah, the fact that we got a chapter pretty much on the first half that is a pretty big red flag on Marcille wish is amazing (Chapter 42), also the whole dark magic in this world is sooo cool, and the source of magic too, along with sooooooo many hints throughout the story like the lion theme decorations, armor, and heck even kensuke pommel design!, the undead not wanting to cause harm but being crazy by not being able to leave the dungeon, and what exactly are the dungeons! If I am not mistaken, the anime is going to be 24 episodes, so that chapter could very well be on Season 1! Hopefully, they will adapt the whole story as they are doing it right now. I can't wait to see the dragon fight and the fights against Marcille monsters!

There actually is sort of an explanation for why Marcille is so picky. In episode 7, it's implied that her homeland is Italian-themed, which is a culture that deeply respects good food, with high standards for ingredients and recipes. Giving her dungeon food is the equivalent of giving a Neopolitan pizza chef a barbecue-style pizza topped with spiders. No-matter HOW great that pizza tastes, the chef is still going to consider it an affront to everything they stand for. The best you'll get is a begrudging respect. (I completely stole this analysis from another comment on a different video, but it was cool so I thought it was worth mentioning here lol)

My alternate title "Is it ok to pick up snacks in a dungeon?" One hidden gem in this series is how there is this whole culture in dungeon diving. Folks that have taverns and stores in parts of the dungeon. Others who make a living retrieving the bodies of less fortunate adventurers. Its a bit of world building that really makes it stand out. I wish the food porn could have one me over. But compared to Food Wars or Campfire cooking... its all sizzle and no steak. It's not for lack of trying. Dwarven Ramsey tries explaining how monster parts are analogues for real world ingredients. But my culinary skills are still at the boil water and dump a packet stage. Its all I can do to follow when Campfire fillets a fish or Food Wars makes an omelet.

The localization is not bad at all. Probably one of the top tier ones I’ve seen lately. ProZD voices one of the characters. And a live action actress from One Piece voices another. They put the right talented people into the right roles.

Tbh if you want to see an animefor the cooking and food, I think campfire cooking in another world is pretty good. It has some isekai aspects too, but very fun to watch

This is Grand-daddy of them all. The Manga series have been running for 10 years and is very incredibly popular, that many copycats manga and anime followed it's formula. It just took to long to get an animated version that people think it copied the other earlier anime. But, this one is still much more unique and more complex than those others. Specially the world building, the aspect about logistics, survival and the biology of the different creatures. There are also a large cast of characters that will play important parts to the more serious plot of the story. Those seemingly cast-off background characters will be back again to the story.

Watched it, boring. Not wrong about the same joke. That is literally the anime. Other anime can pull off the same joke, because there is more. This one, they should have eaten their own fecal matter at one point. I would have changed my opinion.
