In This Video, I will give my honest review of Puella Magi Madoka Magica. My content is satire in nature and while it may sound like I disliked the anime it's mostly bad jokes. Season 1 of this anime was released on January 7, 2011. This anime will probably not be renewed for another season but will more than likely be getting another movie that has been talked about for... I don't know but it's been a long time. There is a manga that you can read that I recommend. This video contains heavy spoilers so be aware if you plan on watching the anime, manga, or movies. This anime is currently available in the English dub.

I love the use of space in this show. All of the scenes in the real world seem to take place in impossibly large rooms. Like the bathroom with all of the mirrors. That room has no ceiling and is bigger than some houses! Something something shows how small and insignificant something something.

I don't care if Madoka 4 was literally announced, we're getting slop like RWBY and Quintessential Quintuplets instead for some reason. Forget Monogatari or 3gatsu adaptations, they're going the way of Hidamari Sketch and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei... (I actually don't believe this, 3gatsu Monogatari and Madoka are their big money makers but still I'm not holding my breath)

In fact, Nagisa's wish for a cheesecake was made so that she could eat the cheesecake her mother loved so much in front of her as she died, as she was a schizophrenic abuser who had a horrible relationship with her in her last moments. It's a story only available in the Nagisa's Wish event of the Magia Record game, so not many people know about it.

Before the sickness, it seems the relationship was actually good. But when she got sick, the father left, no one came to visit her, and the only person that was left was the reminder of what she probably gave up in the name of that relationship. I'm not trying to justify what the woman did, because personally, I think Nagisa should have abandoned her. I'm simply trying not to look at this from a vengeful perspective.

@@sera_venus that was the most accepted theory before the event, give it a watch on youtube to see that actually she became a magical girl for a stupid reason on purpose, that way her mother would have died only because she didn't wish for it, because she didn't love her, according her own words. But she kinda of insta regreted it since she coudn't even protect her mother from a witch (she wanted her to die because she didnt wish for it, not to a witch), so she immediately turned to a witch, soon after her first witch battle.

Honestly that's only real gripe i have about this otherwise amazing show is how basically the plot of the main character is how she is basically the chosen one to stop all witches due to experiencing the most childhood trauma all thanks to her own guardian angel who's been risking her life to accomplish what is to be her very destiny. In my opinion Madoka is the only real plot hole and character in the series who needed more work on her backstory and how she experiences all of these catastrophic events leading her to eventually become the one and most powerful magical girl she is destined to be instead of relying on her best friend to do all of the work for her. Other than that Puella Magi Madoka Magica is still one of the best anime of all time for it's deep, tight, well written, story. Rich, mysterious and thought provoking lore. Beautiful, stylish, and artistic visuals (aside from the scene in episode 3 where Mami's hand is seen clipping through her skirt while making her way to the second witch with Madoka in The Labyrinth). Epic, extremely fun and entertaining to watch fight scenes between magical girls and witches. Brilliant and unique twist combining magical girls with fantasy and psychological horror. And last but not least interesting, well-developed characters (Aside from Madoka) each with their very own unique personality and backstory. While Madoka may not be the most interesting and well written female protagonist in anime Homura, Sayaka, Mami, Kyoko and Kyubey more than made up for her lack of character. Overall I would give Puella Magi Madoka Magica an astonishing 9.5/10.

It didn't take me until now to realize that the point of Madoka's story is that after witnessing Homura fail to change history and after making a contract with Kyubey in order to become a magical girl Madoka is stuck between making the right choice of continuing live her life and continue seeing her friends suffer or choosing to become the most powerful magical and continue to fight witches in another plain of existence at the cost of her own. Now that I think about it you're right that Madoka seeing the loss of her friends and them go insane (i.e seeing Mami die, watching Sayaka suffer knowing she can never see her best friend/love interest Kyosuke ever play violin again, and eventually seeing her go on a witch killing spree at the cost of using up all of her magic in order to protect others only for her to eventually be reborn as a witch in the process, Being forced to destroy Mami's soul gem after she temporarily goes insane after knowing that letting soul gems go completely black turns them into grief seeds and eventually turning them into witches, Seeing Kyoko forced to Sacrifice herself in order to destroy Sayaka thus buying her and Homura enough time to escape from the labyrinth and being forced to see Homura fail many times just to try and change history and stop Walpurgisnacht from wiping out all of reality which would ultimately be Madoka's destiny) I now understand that all of these things are enough traumatic events to shape Madoka into the thing she would ultimately become and that it's difficult between choosing to embrace your current life or choose to sacrifice yourself and everything you've ever loved in order to fight your entire to protect everything you love especially when you're someone like Madoka. Normally it doesn't take me this long to see a character's true given personality after rewatching a series countless times but that's probably also because I sometimes like to go by popular opinions and I forget that I have the right to form my own opinion and that it's just like the one quote by Albert Einstein suggests "What is true is not always popular and what is popular is not always true".

Why wouldn't it be, when it's Yuki Kajiura working on it xD In all seriousness though, more often than not, when you have Yuki Kajiura on the team, you know that atleast the music's gonna be good. I've so far only tried a few of the anime she's worked on (including Madoka, Vanitas, and a few others, planning on watching Erased and Princess Principal next), but that's been consistent so far. (If you're interested, I highly recommend Anime Music Podcast's video on episode 3 of Madoka, they go deep into the technicalities of sound design and all, it's a really good watch, albeit long)

This anime is an excellent example of the phrase: " don't judge a book by its cover " This anime, if you read its name or see its cover, you might think that it is a cute girls anime for children, but when you watch the anime itself, you will find that it is the exact opposite of this. And for me, it is definitely one of my top 20 anime of all time.

The girl who wishes for the cheese cake is actually quite a back ground Her name Nagisa. There's two version of her Wish. One is Dark and one is super depressing and dark. 1. is her wish is to have a cake with her mother. BUT After learning that HER WISH CAN literally be ANYTHING. She could just wish for her mother's sickness to be cure 2nd version is where, after she got disowned by her mother, and kyubey was there. Instead of Curing her Mother, She instead Wishes for a cake. While watching her mother pass away I forgot to add the sources 1st source is from the Official art book of Madoka magica Movie? If I remember 2nd source is from. Magia Record. Madoka Magica DOES have a pre-existing fanbase that still exist to this day, and quite a few Madoka fans were still part of that fanbase, and that is the Hidamari Sketch fans.
