The Apartment is one of my favorite movies and your video is one of the best videos about this movie here on KZbin. I especially like your comments about Wilder's use of space within the frame in the film and how the aspect ratio (the widescreen) affects it. Anyway, great video!

Great illustration of your analysis, but saying that "Nobody else in Hollywood neither before nor after him ever succeeded in turning from great human drama to brilliant comedy or slapstick in a matter of seconds" is quite a sweeping statement! Film history is filled with examples of filmmakers who did exactly what you described. Chaplin's signature style of storytelling, for example, relied exactly on that combination of "great human drama" and brilliant comedy and slapstick. And he was often able to turn from one to the other one in a split-second.
