Lawrie's Mechanical Marvels

Lawrie's Mechanical Marvels

Күн бұрын

Hello everyone,
Over the first weekend of October the Apedale railway held a gala - with almost 100 locomotives on site, it was always going to be something quite impressive.
But what was most interesting was asking Lawrie to come along and help out - so the big question - just how many engines can he drive over the weekend?
If you're like what you see in the video, and want more information on the Apedale Railway and the Mosely Railway Trust, then the link to their website is here - it includes a stocklist so you can find almost every locomotive featured in the video: avlr.org.uk/
A super massive thank you to the super people at the railway for inviting us up.
A video featuring:
Lawrie - Presenter, seeing just how much he can drive.
Featuring camera work by Charles, Alex, and Lozz. Thanks chaps!
A video edited by Lawrie.

@@humbucker0076 the background clip is all German locomotives. The first clip is the Durango and Silverton railway, in Colorado, USA. Most of the rest are various British locomotives, with one clip of an Australian/New Zealand locomotive, and the last clip, I think, is of a Chinese locomotive.

I just love those small diesels. I drove several at Bala in the 1990s. I mainly drove 'Indian Runner' and Lady Madcap there, as well as the larger BB loco (Western lookalike) Merionydd, with her large bus engine and power-boat controls (great seats too!!!). Great days!

@timwhite4301
@timwhite4301 4 жыл бұрын
I don't know what the padlock is for but they are using the it in a token system. It is used on sections of track that have no passing loop. You are only allowed on that section of track if you have the token, there is only one token that way the trains can not crash into each other because if you haven't got a token you aren't going one that section of that track. Hopefully that helped I'm not great at explaining things 😋

LOVE that one green Motorail with the engine that sounds like it ought to be making ice cream at a local fair (or is that only a thing here in the States? Forgive me, it's been a while since I could come visit your lovely country... my heart will forever pine for a flat in London, but my traveling days are over, so it's not to be). @@lewiscartwright3609 the websites I mentioned are the where locos are sometimes posted. Mostly it's just being in the know, or the right place at the right time.
