As an ex Catholic now Muslim I never really understood and came to know of these marriage laws in the bible but I completely understand why Christainity has always been at the foot of other ideologies. I completely understand why they removed church from state.. it makes perfect sense. It's just not compatible for civilizations and it is if fact oppressive. I mean what if the wife became repulsed by her husband for any reason and he was physically abusing her physically. What if he became a complete Meth addict or a drunk? She must stay with him? What if he turned his back on God and became an athiest? She is to stay with him? This guy is out of his head defending this.

I have seen a common pattern of Atheists' behavioral traits. Whenever they can't refute any strong Arguments, backed up by Scientific Data, rationality and logic, they'll immediately commit an 'Appeal to Authority' fallacy. i don't think they really care about that, they only care about the illusion that someone divine died for their sins and salvation. They adhere to this illusion very emotionally. It is all about not perishing, salvation, living with no conscious, no laws, etc... Christianity appeals to very basic desires while trying to rally followers. Divorce is the most hated permissibility in Islam. Of all the halal permitted divorce is hated the most. Allah(swt) dislikes this. However it is allowed and there if need be. Also the rule is set there so people cannot play around with this issue. If you marry, than divorce, the marry, then divorce than marry and divorce again this is the limit. It's a warning that one should not play with marriage and that it is a sacred bond and not something to be played with. It's a rule which is protection from both parties and for the woman. You either figure out your marriage and after the 3rd time she is to move on from you. Divorce is a difficult thing to go through and keep allowing and disallowing is no good for anyone. Honestly I am so thankful for Islam because it gives real solutions to real problems that exist in mankind
