MegaChickenfish Why would he expect Velen to return at all? The way I see it, the endgame plan WAS to flee and ensure the survival of their race, uncorrupted by the demons. Hatuun can't possibly have expected Velen to just walk up to some foreign races and ask them for warriors to save his homeworld in his discoship.
