Orgrimmar is a meeting place for a largely tribal collective of people. Tribal societies have very low populations. Stormwind is a literal city. 200k people? Pretty small, even compared to old world cities in Europe. It's also where all of the high elves live. Because they can't go home.

I don't know much about wow lore, but you are completely wrong about old cities in Europe having a higher population than Stormwind. Rome was the highest populated city averaging 750.000 people and peaking at around 1mil. Alexandria was the 2nd highest with 216.000 thousand. All other majer cities had a population under 100.000. And that's counting the people who lived outside the city walls.

John Kappa Because the cities in wow operate like ancient and classical era cities did. They would only ever be larger than the historic cities however, due to the presence of quick travel from Ironforge and the use of magic to produce larger quantities of crops.

I mainly play alliance characters and I really will not lie on this it truly surprises me when I was a low-level character out in the world and something bad was attacking me I would often find a lot of horde players just showing up and helping me take out the monster or the demon or whatever. I really did like that even though I was the opposite faction they would actually stop and help me and save my ass
