I heard this song once whiles I was in the car with my family, no-one knew the name of it. I've spent over a year and a bit searching for it... Was it worth all of that effort? Yes. Enough said. One of the most beautiful pieces of music i've ever listened to in my life.

I heard it for the first time last night at the Classical Spectacular. Played by the Halle orchestra and sung by the Leeds choir. Astounding !

Sometimes...Maybe just once in our lives we accidently stumble upon a piece of music which evokes melancholy, wonder and such ebulious emotions, which gives us hope for mankind again...I never get sick of hearing this peace and for effect, I always play it with lots of volume and bass....If heaven is like this, I want to be allowed in.

I am lucky enough to belong to a chamber choir which is singing this stunning piece. Even during early rehearsals I find it very moving.

There is nothing comes close to this to stir an emotion even on the hardest of souls. Nimrod is a close second but this is just breathtaking. If there are anyother worlds out there this is what I would hope they would be listening to when trying to make contact. Stunning just stunning!

This is the soulful climax Karl Jenkin's epic album "The Armed Man" - to consecrate the world with peace, bereft of all the pointless blood of war. Edifying and triumphant; orchestral spiritual release.

I am sure that if he knew something was a distraction from his song, he would let it be known. If you search the web like I like to do to find new music and artists, you rarely hear the "boom boom" in this song. 2 Cellos has a recording of it on their new CD and it is full of orchestra and no "boom boom." When you're relaxing to hear a beautiful piece, the last thing you want or would like to hear is a "boom boom" sound. That would otherwise jolt you from relaxation. Duh!?!?!?

This song should be smooth and relaxing. I agree with the other posters - the loud and dramatic part towards the end suck. Ruins the song. If you want to hear and see the most beautiful version of this, go to 2 Cellos "Benedictus." You'll have tears in your eyes before the first 10 seconds. Promise! And no "bam, bam, bam" at the end to ruin the song.
