As a new muslim let me say brothers, i had no major sins in my life i believe, because Allah knows best, but i didnt drink, no smoke, no gamble, no messing with imoral women exept 2 3 times my hole youth till 25, so in general a good guy i thought to myself, but i struggled so much when alone, with these one and only addiction pornography, the urge was to big and i got addicted, i always felt like garbage everytime, i knew it was wrong but couldnt help myself, so i confirm it was such a strong addiction for me, as i had no other addiction like most my friends, now thanks to Allah that embraced me with Islam, i pray every day 5 times, almost 2 months with no porn, still struggle with my desires, but i can feel the big change, since i couldnt stay 2 3 days without watching and doing smth, now no more porn for 2 months, i am focusing on my iman, and im trying to work and be more stable financialy mentaly and healthy, and im trying to push my urges away until i get married inshAllah with a good and decent girl, a muslim one inshAllah, Amin!!

This process is crucial and the journal entry you will read again in the future. ▪︎STEP 2 • Identify behavior promoters I will list a few situations I had which lead to the behavior (you can add your own), - being alone - being at home - smartphone handy at night in bed - receiving vulgar texts/memes from friends - boredom ▪︎STEP 3 • Identify solutions to step 2 My examples, - avoid being alone - stay out of the house, in public, library, etc - don't bring cellphone to bedroom - tell friends not to send such texts - find a FUN activity that requires REAL effort and yields some form of reward, (i.e. gym, exercise, cooking) -- this effects your hormones and reward system that are attached to pornography. An addictive healthy alternative like exercise or sports works the best. ▪︎STEP 4 • Removal Tactics Spend a few minutes or more everyday to contemplate _what SMALL step can I take that will lead me away from addiction?_ or SMALL steps to work on solutions in step#3. Ask this question often; whatever answers you get, write in journal. This is a psychological technique called Kaizin that's used extensively in business to increase productivity and creativity. *Remember: it must be a SMALL, tiny step* that LEADS towards quitting, doesn't mean you will quit right away. If you choose a big step, the brain automatically resists it and you fail 99% of the time. You have to make a series of small, tiny steps towards your goal. The steps must be so small that the brain doesn't resist and sees it effortless. ▪︎STEP 5 • Checklist Use your journal, calendar, or an app to keep a checklist of *every single day* of your journey. At the end of the day, mark ❌ or ✅ if you feel you made some productive progress towards your goal. This process of checklist is a psychological hack; it creates a feedback loop in your brain where a ✅ gives you a feeling of success that creates more motivation to seek greater challenges, while an ❌ prompts the brain subconsciously to overcome the current challenge by way of tension, urgency and need. ▪︎STEP 6 • Reward yourself Alot in your journal how you will reward yourself periodically for your efforts against addiction. I set my periods for small reward every 14 days and big reward every 30 days. Reward means anything fun that makes you feel good but isn't something you do every day. My small reward was: a slice of cheesecake. My big reward was: fastfood (which I rarely ate before, and have stopped now). You choose your own as per your lifestyle. Remember: *the reward must be fun* . This reward system psychologically reinforces your behavior to overcome the addiction and creates more motivation to perpetuate your efforts. ____________ I use an app called Habit Bull for checklist. It displays your stats, averages, areas to improve. I also joined a forum called NoFap dot com. An anti-pornography community that is extremely resourceful and helpful in overcoming this addiction. From there, I got a whatsapp group of about 6 people on the same journey who check in every day if they are feeling the urge to ___ , and motivate/distract each other away from pornography. This process is called 'Accountability Partners' , very common in addiction psychology therapy. Let me know if you have more Questions.

I constantly made dua to protect myself from every kind of zina and from the evil of my sperm and alhamdulillah my dua has been accepted!! The time I feel the urge i can overpower it easier than ever before and it's not a coincidence that I've been closer to Allah swt than ever to the point that when I intentionally start to delay prayer even if it's a few minutes I start to get a burning feeling and that is allah swt making it impossible for me to delay prayer. Keep righteous companionship. 4. Study these bad things so you know the dangers of this and find ways to overcome this 5. Express your felling to someone whom you trust and is ready to be a mentor for you. 6. Stop saying I am a superman this won't affect me. Never put yourselves in this condition. 7. Don't waste your time. 8. Remember Allah a lot. 9. Think about your efforts to control this and reflect on the consequences of this desire. 10. Try to fulfill this desires legally by marrying a spouse whom you admire and trust her by saying your feelings. 11. Be a mentor to other people this would increase your knowledge. 12. Unfortunately I live in a satanic/zionist regime run western country, so not only is depravity and Islamophobia pushed in the schools, but when I got divorced from my ex who was abusing our children, the satanic/zionist courts gave her full custody! Alhamdulillah they are almost adults now, so will soon be able to come live with me. Plus I had children with another woman afterward and the youngest lives with me. @@IbrahimIbrahim-dm3tw living in such depravity means half naked women are everywhere (especially in the summer) and on tv, advertising...but Alhamdulillah since I reverted, I try my best to look away/keep my eyes down, especially as I offered my Hajj two years ago and insha'Allah want to keep as much on the Straight Path as possible now. In fact, I broke up with my beautiful ex gf (or she moved out of my house) as I told her I couldn't sleep with her after I reverted and couldn't marry her as she's an atheist and hates Islam (typical chinese). Insha'Allah Allah will grant both of us pious Muslim wives, but until then, I recommend fasting FREQUENTLY, as it completely reduces those desires and almost eliminated them for me. Sometimes I fast an entire month at a time.
