Nice catch. I always love your tidal bore videos. I'm from Preston and used to love the Ribble Bore. Thanks for sharing.

Karl Johnson , thanks for your comment Karl. I used to live in Preston many years ago but knew nothing of the bore on the Ribble then. I’ll be posting a new video of the Ribble bore soon, filmed from the docks.

Saw the bore this morning approximately at 11.30. It was fascinating to see and hear. My wife and I frequently visit Arnside, but we have never seen the bore as spectacular as it was this morning. Arnside is well worth a visit, as is the Beach hut cafe, which caters for vegans as well as non vegans, they do great coffee.

Saw it the following day at Blackstone point. Amazing spectacle and one I’ve always been fascinated by.

Not as impressive as I was expecting. However, it is madness we don’t harness the energy in the tidal movements, it’s free.

The bore passed Arnside Pier at 11:43 today. It was about 20 minutes early due to a strong westerly wind. High tide at Arnside tomorrow (13th Feb 2024) is at 14:45 and the bore usually arrives about 1 hour and 50 minutes before that (that will be 12:55). I would arrive at least 30 minutes before, in case it comes in early again.
